Closest to Brisbane Airport and where the lowest from-prices sit — the M1 run north is short and clean and the Gateway drops you straight into BNE. If you’re travelling in peak periods, allow up to 2 hours for the run.

Central Gold Coast

The tower precincts, the convention centre and the inland residential belt. Roughly 85–95km to BNE — around 1 hour 20 minutes off-peak. If you’re travelling in peak periods, allow up to 2 hours for the run.

Southern Gold Coast

Beachfront, surf breaks and the family suburbs south of Broadbeach. Roughly 97–110km to BNE. If you’re travelling in peak periods, allow up to 2 hours for the run. Gold Coast Airport sits in this catchment, so it’s worth checking whether OOL covers your route before booking the longer run.

Northern NSW

Cross-border runs from the Tweed Coast and Northern Rivers, operating under Queensland Booked Hire licensing with no border-crossing surcharge. Byron Bay is around 165km — roughly two hours. Groups of 8–11 take the 12-seat VW Crafter (up to 11 passengers) — up to 8 large suitcases for a full group (luggage trailer for more), longer boards, wedding and conference manifests. Anything above 11 runs as multiple vehicles under one reservation. Flag child seats, surfboards or oversized gear at booking and the vehicle is matched to the manifest.

Brisbane Airport or Gold Coast Airport?

The short answer

If your flight departs from one of them, that’s your answer — check the ticket first. Otherwise it comes down to the route network. Gold Coast Airport (OOL) handles domestic east-coast, New Zealand and short-haul Asia-Pacific and for most of the Gold Coast it’s 15–45 minutes away on a toll-free road. Brisbane Airport (BNE) carries the full international long-haul widebody network — Dubai, Doha, Singapore, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, London — plus wider domestic capacity.

From the southern Gold Coast the gap is stark: Coolangatta is walking distance from OOL and 110km from BNE. From the northern end it inverts — BNE is the closer airport. Which Terminal and How BNE Works

Not sure which terminal and how the BNE arrivals process works? BNE Domestic and BNE International sit on separate sides of the airport precinct, connected by a free terminal transfer bus (about 5 minutes) and the Airtrain (about 2 minutes between terminal stations). Domestic check-in typically opens about 2 hours before departure and international about 3 hours before — which is why CGC applies a drive-time-plus-2-hours buffer on domestic runs and drive-time-plus-3-hours on international. On the inbound leg, flight monitoring tracks your actual landing and the named driver waits at the confirmed meet point through the customs corridor at no charge. Brisbane Airport handled a record 25.2 million passengers in FY26 — 84,265 of them on its busiest day, 6 October 2025, after the NRL Grand Final and the school holidays — according to its own newsroom. The kerbside pickup zones move that crowd, which is why every arrival on this page is planned from a flight number rather than a clock.

How much is a transfer to Brisbane Airport?

Because each suburb falls into a fixed-price zone and different zones carry different set prices — every fare is fixed and locked at booking, never metered. Coomera is a short run north; Surfers Paradise is around 85km; Coolangatta is 110km; Byron Bay is 165km. The same trip is genuinely a different length of drive depending on where you start and the price reflects that rather than averaging everyone out.

Is the Gateway Motorway toll extra?

No. It’s inside every BNE quote — no separate toll charge on arrival and nothing to settle in the car.

Does the price change after I book?

No. It’s locked when you book — no surge at any time of year, no meter, no fuel levy and no last-minute surcharge. A higher rate applies only on Easter Sunday (closed on Christmas Day). Standard hours are 6am–9pm; an after-hours fee for a 9pm–6am pickup is calculated and confirmed inside the quote before you confirm.

How early do I need to leave for Brisbane Airport?

The rule is drive time plus 2 hours for domestic and plus 3 hours for international. From Surfers Paradise that’s a 5:40am pickup for a 9am domestic and 4:40am for a 9am international. What if my flight is delayed?

Flight monitoring runs on every airport pickup, so the collection follows your actual landing at no extra charge. There’s no charge for airport waiting time — we generally allow 1 hour after a domestic landing and 90 minutes after an international landing to clear the terminal and collect bags.

Are baby and child seats available?

Yes — Australian-Standards rear-facing baby seats, forward-facing child seats and boosters, up to five in the Carnival, fitted before pickup. They’re an optional extra, itemised in the quote at booking so you see the total before confirming. Queensland exempts booked hire from the mandatory restraint requirements that apply to private cars, but CGC fits the correct seat regardless. Do you run cross-border to Northern NSW?

Yes. Tweed Heads, Kingscliff, Byron Bay, Ballina and the Northern Rivers are routine runs under Queensland Booked Hire licensing, with no border-crossing surcharge. During daylight saving (October to April) NSW runs an hour ahead of Queensland — pickup times are confirmed in Queensland time, the same clock as your flight, so add an hour to read them on an NSW clock.

Can you carry surfboards or oversized luggage?

Yes. The Carnival takes up to 3 boards in 1–2 bags, with boards to roughly 7′2″ fitting diagonally; longer boards and larger manifests need the Crafter (up to 11 passengers), which also handles golf clubs, instruments and tradeshow displays. Which BNE terminal do you drop at?

How do I pay?

Online by card at the time of booking — no cash and no in-car payment, so nothing is handled on the day. Corporate accounts are available by prior approval.

What’s the cancellation policy?

Cancel more than 24 hours before pickup for a full credit toward a future booking; within 24 hours, no credit applies, as the vehicle and driver are reserved. If your flight itself is cancelled: full credit beyond 4 hours, 50% between 1.5 and 4 hours, none within 1.5 hours. Credits are non-refundable. Full terms on the About Us page.

Family of 4 with lots of luggage, prams etc. The booking process via Chris was a breeze, communication was clear (including on the day with our driver Cam for meeting), the vehicle was immaculately clean / comfortable and the rates are really competitive.

Big delay and went another way and delivered me to the airport ahead of schedule. Perhaps they could manage the aircraft as it was a steep downhill after this terrific service

Chris, the proprietor and manager of CGC Transfers, initially our Uber driver, had picked us up from the airport and has provided us with the friendliest and most accommodating private transport experience. After Chris had informed us of his Private Transport business, I asked for a quote on the spot based on our itinerary and he was quick to provide with no hidden costs or issues. The price was fair given the high demands of the season and it comes with excellent communication and service from your own private driver. Highly recommend to book CGC Transfers particularly if you're in larger groups of 5-8 plus luggage. Thanks again Chris, hope to have you look after us again in the future.

Zaf was on time, car was great and a very pleasant trip. Also cheaper than a Taxi.
