The farm sits in the hills above the Tweed Valley, about ten minutes west of Kingscliff, and it is one of the few Tweed attractions most visitors can’t reach on a bus timetable. CGC Airport Transfers has run pre-booked private transfers across the Gold Coast and Northern NSW since 2020. One booking, one vehicle, no shared stops. It is not a taxi, rideshare or shared shuttle.

Because CGC is a Queensland-registered booked-hire service, every trip starts or finishes in Queensland: from Gold Coast Airport, Brisbane Airport or any Gold Coast address to the farm, and back. Trips that start and finish in New South Wales — Kingscliff, Tweed Heads or Byron Bay to the farm — are outside our licence.
From Gold Coast Airport the run is about 15 km: south on the M1 across the border, off at the Murwillumbah exit by the farm’s giant avocado sign, and a few minutes along Duranbah Road — around 20 minutes off-peak. From Surfers Paradise it is about 45 km and around 40 minutes down the M1; from Brisbane Airport about 110–120 km and around 1 hour 25 to 35 minutes, Gateway toll included in the fare. For a full Tweed day that adds Husk Distillers or the Tweed Regional Gallery, see our day trip hire and the Tweed guide.
Pre-booked service only, with the drop-off timed to the farm’s check-in and the return pickup at whatever time suits you — tell us at booking, and the driver is waiting at the entrance. School holidays and weekends — no surge. Book both legs on one reservation and a 5% discount applies to the return leg.

Tropical Fruit World: What to Expect
Tropical Fruit World is a working family fruit farm in the hills above the Tweed Valley, growing more than 500 varieties of tropical and exotic fruit, and home of the giant avocado you see from the motorway. The signature tour is a tractor-train ride through the orchards with a tasting of whatever is in season, a fauna park with farm and native animals, a wildlife boat cruise through the bushland valley and free time at The Island, a play and garden area for children. It takes about two to two and a half hours.
The farm market, café and ice creamery are worth a stop after the tour, and the market sells what came off the trees that week. Tour times change with the season and are listed on the farm’s tours page; pre-booking is essential, and the farm asks you to check in at least 30 minutes before departure.
It is a working farm with uneven ground, and prams, strollers and wheelchairs can’t go on the tour vehicles — they are checked in at the Tours Desk — so a baby carrier helps. Combining the farm with Husk Distillers, the Tweed Regional Gallery or the coast? See our Tweed guide and day trip hire. For more ideas see things to do in the Northern Rivers.
Fleet Available for Tropical Fruit World Transfers
Two core vehicles handle most farm bookings — the Sedan or similar for couples and small families, and the Kia Carnival for families with child seats, a pram and day bags. For groups of 8–11, the 12-seater VW Crafter keeps everyone together, priced in the booking form.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sedan or similar | 1–3 passengers | Day bags plus a folded stroller | Couples, small families |
| Kia Carnival | Up to 7 passengers | Full-size pram, day bags, a box of fruit from the market | Families with child seats, grandparents-and-grandkids groups |
| 12-seater VW Crafter | 8–11 passengers | Group day bags | Multi-family groups and birthday outings, priced in the booking form |
Example Day: Coolangatta Apartment to the Farm and Back
A family of four staying in a Coolangatta apartment — two parents, a six-year-old in a booster and a toddler in a forward-facing seat — books the 10:20am NSW-time farm tour. That is 9:20am Queensland time, and the farm wants them checked in 30 minutes earlier.
They book the Kia Carnival online with both child seats ($35 each) and a pram flagged: pickup 8:25am Queensland time, return pickup at 12:30pm Queensland time to leave room for the market and an ice cream after the tour. The fare is priced in the booking form from their address, locked at booking, with the return leg 5% off on the same reservation.
The night-before SMS confirms the driver and pickup point. The drive takes about 20 minutes, the family checks in at 8:50am, and the pram stays at the Tours Desk while they ride the tractor train. At 12:30pm the driver is at the entrance, and they are back in Coolangatta for lunch.

Frequently Asked Questions on Tropical Fruit World Transfers
How much is a transfer to Tropical Fruit World?
A fixed $130 Sedan or similar or $175 Kia Carnival from Gold Coast Airport, $115 or $160 from the farm back to the airport, and $275 or $385 between the farm and Brisbane Airport in either direction — per vehicle, GST included, locked at booking. Pickups from Gold Coast hotels and homes are priced instantly in the booking form from your exact address.
How much is Gold Coast Airport to Tropical Fruit World?
A fixed $130 Sedan or similar or $175 Kia Carnival, per vehicle, for the roughly 15 km run — around 20 minutes off-peak. In-terminal meet and greet is included on every Gold Coast Airport pickup.
Why does the trip from the airport cost more than the trip back?
Airport pickups include in-terminal meet and greet and waiting time from your actual landing, so the driver is in the terminal before you reach the exit. The trip from the farm back to the airport is a straight drop-off: $115 Sedan or similar or $160 Kia Carnival.
How much is Brisbane Airport to Tropical Fruit World?
A fixed $275 Sedan or similar or $385 Kia Carnival, per vehicle, in either direction — about 110–120 km and around 1 hour 25 to 35 minutes off-peak, with the Gateway toll and GST included.
Can you pick us up from our Gold Coast hotel?
Yes. Pickups from Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Burleigh Heads, Coolangatta and every other Gold Coast address are priced instantly in the booking form from your exact address, and the price is locked at booking. Surfers Paradise is about 45 km and around 40 minutes from the farm.
Can you take us from Kingscliff, Tweed Heads or Byron Bay to Tropical Fruit World?
No. CGC is a Queensland-registered booked-hire service, and our licence conditions don’t allow trips that start and finish in New South Wales. Every trip has to start or finish in Queensland — Gold Coast Airport, Brisbane Airport or a Gold Coast address.
Are the farm’s tour times in Queensland or NSW time?
NSW time. The farm keeps New South Wales daylight saving time, which runs an hour ahead of Queensland from early October to early April, so a 10:20am tour is 9:20am on the Gold Coast. Our pickups are always booked in Queensland time — tell us your tour time and we work it out.
How long is the farm tour, and when should we arrive?
The tractor tour and tasting take about two to two and a half hours. Tours must be booked ahead, and the farm asks guests to check in at least 30 minutes before departure, so we time the drop-off to your check-in, not the tour start.
Where does the driver drop off and pick up?
At the farm entrance at 29 Duranbah Road, Duranbah — the farm with the giant avocado sign beside the motorway. The return pickup is from the same spot at the time on your booking.
Can I set a return pickup time, and change it on the day?
Yes. Set the return time when you book, ideally about 30 minutes after your tour finishes so there is time for the market and café, and text us on the day if you run early or late.
Do you provide baby seats and child seats?
Yes — rear-facing baby seats, forward-facing child seats and boosters are fitted before pickup at $35 per seat, added to your quote at booking. In New South Wales every child under 7 must travel in an approved restraint, so tell us each child’s age when you book.
Will a pram fit, and can it go on the tour?
The Kia Carnival takes a full-size pram folded plus day bags. The farm doesn’t allow prams or strollers on its tour vehicles — they are checked in at the Tours Desk — so a carrier is handy for babies.
Can we combine Tropical Fruit World with Husk Distillers or the Tweed Valley in one day?
Yes — that’s what day hire is for: one driver and a Kia Carnival for up to 7 people from $750, so you can add Husk Distillers, lunch at Tumbulgum or the Tweed Regional Gallery. Our Tweed guide has the day mapped out.
Is this a private transfer or a shared shuttle?
Private. The vehicle is reserved for your booking and travels directly between your pickup and the farm — no shared stops.
Is the fare per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. A family of six in the Kia Carnival pays the same $175 from Gold Coast Airport as a couple would — the price never multiplies by headcount.
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancel more than 24 hours before pickup and the full amount is held as credit for a future booking; within 24 hours no credit applies.
How do I pay?
By card online at booking, through the secure payment link — every transfer is pre-booked and paid before travel, with no in-car payment.
We are a group of 8 to 11 — can you take us?
Yes. The 12-seater VW Crafter carries up to eleven, priced in the booking form, or add a second vehicle: from Gold Coast Airport a Kia Carnival + Sedan or similar is $305 and 2 × Kia Carnival is $350.
