CGC Airport Transfers provides private Burleigh Heads to Gold Coast Airport transfers — one of the shortest airport runs on the Gold Coast, at roughly 13km and around 15 to 20 minutes off-peak, so the airport check-in buffer, not the drive, is the controlling factor for pickup timing. This is a pre-booked private airport transfer service, not a taxi, rideshare or shared shuttle. Operating across South East Queensland and Northern NSW since 2020.
Door-to-door from every Burleigh Heads address: the James Street dining-and-café precinct (Rick Shores, Burleigh Pavilion, Justin Lane, Greenhouse Canteen and the broader strip, with side-street loading-zone access), The Esplanade beachfront apartment strip facing Burleigh Beach (including Burleigh Beach Tower and Burleigh Mediterranean), the Burleigh Hill elevated residential above the Point, Goodwin Terrace overlooking Burleigh Heads National Park and the surf break, the Connor Street and West Burleigh inland network, plus the Miami and Tallebudgera Creek borders across the 4220 postcode.
Gold Coast Airport is the closer airport for the domestic east-coast network plus short-haul international to New Zealand, Bali, Fiji and Singapore. Burleigh Heads has a deep surf-travel community, so the board-carrying Kia Carnival is the standard family and surf-trip vehicle on this route. For the full international long-haul network, the longer Brisbane Airport (BNE) run at around 97km is the alternative.

James Street Side-Street Loading Zone
The James Street pedestrian dining frontage is not a vehicle-loading point — the short-stay apartments around the strip use dedicated side-street loading bays that rideshare pin drops routinely miss, leaving the driver blocking the dining strip or circling. CGC captures the specific apartment building name and the side-street loading-zone detail at booking, so the driver pulls into the right access point where you wheel the bags out.
Esplanade Building Identification
The Esplanade beachfront strip carries several apartment buildings in a row, including Burleigh Beach Tower and Burleigh Mediterranean. CGC captures the specific building name and forecourt identifier at booking so the driver pulls into the right loading zone rather than circling between adjacent buildings. The Burleigh Hill elevated streets and the Goodwin Terrace point-side addresses are captured the same way, with the specific street and house number on the booking record.
Surfboard Accommodation
Burleigh Heads has a deep surf-travel community — the Burleigh Point break plus nearby Currumbin Alley, Tallebudgera mouth and Snapper Rocks feed regular board-carrying departures to Bali, Indonesia, Fiji and the Maldives. The 7-seat Kia Carnival carries up to 3 boards in 1–2 bags plus standard luggage, loading along the second-row footwell. Flag the board count, lengths and bag type at booking so the Carnival is reserved with the right cargo space; larger group surf-trip manifests fit the 12-seater Transporter. The Sedan does not carry boards.
QLD Child Seats — Under 7
Queensland road rules require children under 7 to travel in an approved restraint suited to their age and size. CGC provides and fits Australian-Standards restraints on request:
- Birth to 6 months — approved rear-facing seat
- 6 months to 4 years — rear-facing or forward-facing seat with an inbuilt harness
- 4 to 7 years — forward-facing seat with an inbuilt harness and an approved booster
Provide each child’s age and approximate size at booking so the correct seat is fitted before pickup; an additional child seat cost applies, added to your quote. Multi-child configurations are handled in the 7-seat Kia Carnival. See Queensland Government — child restraints for the full framework.

Gold Coast Airport is dramatically closer for Burleigh Heads — about 13km and 15 to 20 minutes versus around 97km to Brisbane. OOL handles domestic east-coast plus short-haul international to New Zealand, Bali, Fiji and Singapore. For the full international long-haul widebody network OOL doesn’t operate, the longer Brisbane Airport (BNE) run is the alternative.

Burleigh Heads: Iconic Southern Gold Coast Surf-and-Dining Suburb Minutes From OOL
Burleigh Heads occupies the southern central Gold Coast, bounded by Miami to the north, West Burleigh inland and Tallebudgera Creek to the south. The suburb anchors one of the city’s most distinctive surf-and-dining identities — the Burleigh Heads National Park headland and the protected world-class right-hand break at Burleigh Point, the celebrated James Street dining precinct, The Esplanade beachfront apartment strip with landmark buildings like Burleigh Beach Tower and Burleigh Mediterranean, the Burleigh Hill elevated streets above the Point and the Goodwin Terrace point-side residential overlooking the surf break and the national park.
Gold Coast Airport sits just 13km south down the Gold Coast Highway through Palm Beach, Currumbin and Tugun — one of the shortest airport drives on the Gold Coast, a clean coastal corridor with no motorway involvement, running effectively unimpeded outside weekday morning peak through the Palm Beach strip. Because the drive is so short, the airport check-in buffer becomes the controlling factor for pickup timing rather than the drive itself.
Two operational features shape pickups most: the James Street side-street loading zones (the pedestrian dining frontage is not a loading point) and the Esplanade building identification (several beachfront buildings in a row), both captured on the booking record so the driver arrives at the right point. Across the event calendar — the Burleigh Pro, National Park clifftop weddings and Schoolies week — CGC bookings hold the standard rate with no surge.
Fleet Available From Burleigh Heads
Two core vehicles handle the majority of Burleigh Heads to Gold Coast Airport bookings — the Sedan or similar for 1–3 passengers (Esplanade and Burleigh Hill couples, James Street short-stay couples, business solo travel, no boards) and the board-carrying 7-seat Kia Carnival for families with fitted QLD child seats, surf-trip board departures and multi-suitcase international manifests. For groups of 8–11, the 12-seater Transporter handles National Park clifftop and Burleigh Pavilion wedding parties, Schoolies-week groups and multi-family surf-trip departures.
| Vehicle | Capacity | Luggage | Best for |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sedan or similar | 1–3 passengers | 2 large cases + 2 carry-on | Esplanade and Burleigh Hill couples, James Street short-stay couples, business solo travel, no boards |
| 7-seat Kia Carnival | Up to 7 passengers | Up to 6 large cases | Families with fitted QLD child seats, surf-trip board departures and multi-suitcase international manifests |
| 12-seat VW Transporter (quoted on request) | 8–11 passengers | Up to 10 large cases | National Park clifftop and Burleigh Pavilion wedding parties, Schoolies-week groups and multi-family surf-trip departures |
Real Scenario: James Street Apartment Surfer to OOL International — 7am Flight to Bali
A surfer based in a James Street precinct apartment is heading to Bali on a one-week surf trip. The outbound flight is a 7am service from Gold Coast Airport to Denpasar. The manifest is one traveller, one large suitcase, one carry-on backpack and two boards — a 6’1″ shortboard and a 6’4″ step-up — in a single soft double-bag, plus a small fin-and-accessories bag. So the booking is the 7-seat Kia Carnival, since the Sedan does not carry boards.
The booking is placed two days ahead, flagging the James Street apartment building name and its side-street loading zone (the apartment has no front-kerb loading), the flight number for tracking and the two-board manifest in one soft double-bag. The system applies the timing rule — around 15 minutes drive plus the 2-hour international buffer — scheduling a 4:40am pickup. That pickup is inside the after-hours window, so an after-hours surcharge applies and is confirmed in the quote.
The night before, the driver sends an SMS confirming the 4:40am pickup at the James Street apartment’s side-street loading zone, the vehicle registration and the reserved board-bag space. On the morning, the driver pulls into the side-street loading zone — not the pedestrian dining frontage where loading is restricted. The double-board bag goes lengthwise along the second-row footwell, the suitcase and accessories bag into the rear cargo and the carry-on onto the second-row seat.
Departure south down the Gold Coast Highway through Palm Beach, Currumbin and Tugun. The pre-dawn corridor runs clear, reaching Gold Coast Airport at Coolangatta around 5:00am as international check-in opens — comfortable for the 7am departure, with the double-board bag tagged as oversized sporting equipment.
CGC Private Transfer vs Rideshare
| Factor | CGC pre-booked | Rideshare |
|---|---|---|
| James Street side-street loading zone | ✓ Building name + side-street loading zone captured — driver pulls in where you wheel the bags out | ✗ Pin drops drift to the James Street dining frontage where loading is restricted |
| Esplanade building identification | ✓ Specific building captured (Burleigh Beach Tower, Burleigh Mediterranean or other) | ✗ Pin drops misalign between the row of beachfront buildings |
| Surfboard accommodation | ✓ Up to 3 boards in 1–2 bags in the Carnival, reserved at booking | ✗ Vehicle frequently unsuitable for board manifests |
| Pricing on the day | ✓ Locked at booking — no surge on the Burleigh Pro, Schoolies or wedding weekends | ✗ Dynamic surge on surf-event weekends, pre-dawn windows and Schoolies |
| Pre-dawn availability | ✓ Pre-booked and rostered — pre-dawn Bali, Fiji and New Zealand departures routine | ✗ Driver pools thin in the southern Gold Coast pre-dawn |
| Burleigh Hill elevated-street access | ✓ Specific street and house number captured | ✗ Pin-drop guesswork on narrow elevated lanes |
| Child seats | ✓ Australian-Standards seats fitted under QLD law, required for children under 7 | ✗ Not provided as standard |
| Flight details checked and monitored | ✓ Standard on every booking | ✗ Not available |
