Sanctuary Cove is a private estate with a security gatehouse on the entry road, so a transfer here isn’t a matter of pulling up at a kerb on a public street. The practical effect on timing is small but real: allow a couple of minutes at the gate and a couple more on the internal roads to the resort porte cochère, which sits well inside the grounds. We build that into the pickup time rather than the fare.

It is the longest OOL run of any property in our hotel guides, which is precisely why Brisbane competes so well from this address.

Traffic on this route

This is an M1 run, so it lives or dies on the motorway. Southbound weekday afternoons from about 3pm to 6:30pm are the worst of it and the stretch through Nerang and Robina is the usual bottleneck. Friday afternoons and the first afternoon of a school-holiday period can add half an hour. Mornings southbound are generally clear, which suits most departure flights. We allow for the conditions in the pickup time, not the fare and your fixed price does not change.

Sanctuary Cove to Brisbane Airport (BNE)

Quick answer: Brisbane Airport is about 62 km north of the resort. A private transfer takes 55–70 minutes in normal traffic and costs a fixed $190 for a sedan, $240 for a Kia Carnival — Gateway Motorway toll and GST included, price locked at booking. From the estate the route joins the M1 northbound and transfers to the Logan Motorway and then the Gateway Motorway for either terminal. Brisbane’s Domestic and International terminals are separate buildings several minutes apart, so specify which one at booking. The Gateway toll sits inside your quoted price.

Northbound weekday mornings carry Brisbane commuter traffic from about 6am to 9am, which is unfortunately when most departure flights want you moving. Allow toward the upper end of the range on a weekday and expect the clearest run before 6am. Southbound afternoons peak from 3pm to 6:30pm. Friday is heaviest both ways and long weekends can push past 80 minutes.

Golf clubs

Worth its own note here, because two courses inside the estate mean clubs are on more departures from this resort than from anywhere else we collect. Golf bags travel in the Kia Carnival or the 12-seater Transporter, not the sedan — a sedan with two passengers and two sets of clubs runs out of boot before it runs out of seats. Flag the number of bags at booking and the right vehicle is allocated rather than discovered at the porte cochère on the morning.

Child seats

Queensland’s child restraint rules carry an exemption for booked hire and taxi services, so a seat is not mandatory in our vehicles — but we provide and fit them anyway at $35 per seat, itemised inside your locked quote. An honest word on the Airtrain

Unlike most addresses in our guides, public transport here isn’t hopeless. Helensvale station is a short drive away and the Airtrain runs from there directly to both Brisbane terminals. If you are one or two people travelling light and not in a hurry, it is a reasonable option and we would rather say so than pretend otherwise. What it doesn’t suit is golf clubs, a family with a pram, an early departure before services start and the need to be somewhere at a fixed time — and it still requires getting out of the estate to the station, which is a taxi or transfer in itself.

Practical Tips for Your Stay

Book flights before you book the transfer

The advice specific to this address. Because both airports are genuinely in play, the money is in the airfare rather than the transfer — a $40 difference in the drive is irrelevant next to a few hundred on tickets or an overnight connection avoided. Decide the airport on the flights and we will cover either.

Check-out and departure timing

Check-out is typically mid-morning; confirm the current time with the resort. If your flight is later, the concierge can hold luggage so you get a final round or a swim at the lagoon rather than sitting in the lobby. Give us the flight number and we set the pickup from it, not from check-out.

The pickup point

Transfers collect from the resort porte cochère, which the driver reaches through the Sanctuary Cove gatehouse and the internal estate roads. Provide your room number at booking so the bell desk can stage your luggage and the gate arrangements are on the record. Your SMS the night before carries the driver’s name, vehicle registration and pickup point.

Boat Show and event weekends

The marina hosts a major annual boat show and event weekends concentrate arrivals and departures into narrow windows. There is no surge on our pricing at any time of year, but vehicles do book out — the Carnival and Transporter especially. Book well ahead for event dates rather than the week before.

Theme parks

The northern position makes this one of the better theme park bases on the coast. Movie World and Wet’n’Wild at Oxenford and Dreamworld at Coomera are all a short run down the M1. If your last day includes a park before an evening flight, tell us at booking and we can route via the park with your luggage staying in the vehicle. What time will I be collected for my flight?

We aim to have you at the airport 2 hours before a domestic departure and 3 hours before an international one. The pickup time is that lead plus the drive — around an hour to either airport, with the gate and internal roads allowed for on top. Give us the flight number at booking and we work the time back from it.

Can you carry golf clubs?

Yes and it’s the most common extra from this resort. Clubs travel in the Kia Carnival or 12-seater Transporter rather than a sedan — two passengers with two sets of clubs will run out of boot in a sedan before running out of seats. What happens if my flight is delayed?

Can I get to the airport on public transport?

For Brisbane, yes — more so than from most addresses we cover. Helensvale station is a short drive and the Airtrain runs from there directly to both Brisbane terminals. It suits one or two people travelling light without a fixed deadline. It doesn’t suit golf clubs, a family with a pram and an early departure before services start and you still need to get out of the estate to the station. Gold Coast Airport by public transport means a tram south then a bus connection, which is a long trip with luggage.

Can I book a very early or late pickup?

Yes, by pre-booking. Pickups between 9pm and 6am carry an after-hours fee and the prices shown here assume standard hours of 6am to 9pm. Your total is confirmed upfront when you book. Pre-dawn runs are also the clearest on both motorways, which matters more here than on a short beachfront transfer.

Can you move a conference or golf group leaving on different flights?

Yes. Multi-vehicle bookings run on one reservation with each vehicle timed to its own flight, so nobody sits at the terminal for three hours and nobody misses a departure. Give us the flight list, headcounts and the number of golf bags and we’ll build it out. Corporate accounts are available by prior approval.

How is payment handled and can I book both legs together?

By card online when you book, which is the point the price is locked — nothing is paid in the vehicle. Booking both legs on one reservation is simpler: both prices are confirmed upfront, with the airport-to-resort leg quoted separately because it carries the airport access fee. Your arrival flight is monitored and an SMS reaches you before landing with the meet point and arrival instructions.

What are the cancellation terms?

The communication around booking was great, the cars were clean and comfortable, we felt very safe on the drive and the drivers were friendly and offered helpful suggestions of how we could make the most of our time on GC. We had great chats with him and he was really helpful in suggesting activities to do near Byron. Big delay and went another way and delivered me to the airport ahead of schedule. Perhaps they could manage the aircraft as it was a steep downhill after this terrific service

Chris, the proprietor and manager of CGC Transfers, initially our Uber driver, had picked us up from the airport and has provided us with the friendliest and most accommodating private transport experience. After Chris had informed us of his Private Transport business, I asked for a quote on the spot based on our itinerary and he was quick to provide with no hidden costs or issues. The price was fair given the high demands of the season and it comes with excellent communication and service from your own private driver. Highly recommend to book CGC Transfers particularly if you're in larger groups of 5-8 plus luggage. Thanks again Chris, hope to have you look after us again in the future.

We had Zaffa as our driver from Biggera Waters to the Gold Coast Airport on 30/4/25, could not have been happier that we selected them for our transport. Zaf was on time, car was great and a very pleasant trip. Also cheaper than a Taxi.

CGC Airport Transfers — private, pre-booked airport transfers from InterContinental Sanctuary Cove Resort, Manor Circle, Sanctuary Cove, Hope Island QLD 4212, to Gold Coast Airport (OOL, Coolangatta) and Brisbane Airport (BNE, Domestic and International terminals). Resort to Gold Coast Airport a fixed $130 sedan or $160 Kia Carnival; resort to Brisbane Airport a fixed $190 sedan or $240 Kia Carnival; the 12-seat Transporter is quoted on request. Per vehicle, not per person. GST included, Gateway Motorway toll inside the Brisbane price, Gold Coast Airport run toll-free. Price locked at booking — no surge, no metered fare, no fuel levy; a higher rate applies on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday only. Published figures are resort-to-airport; airport pickups are quoted separately because inbound legs carry an airport access fee. Approximately 50 km and 45–60 minutes to Gold Coast Airport via the M1 south; approximately 62 km and 55–70 minutes to Brisbane Airport via the M1, Logan Motorway and Gateway Motorway.

Pickup: the resort porte cochère inside the gated Sanctuary Cove estate, with gatehouse access arranged before the vehicle arrives. Provide the resort name and room number at booking. Sanctuary Cove is the northernmost property in our hotel guides and the one address where both airports are genuinely competitive — around fifteen minutes and $40 apart in a sedan — so the flight schedule rather than the transfer should decide the airport.

Service: driver allocated ahead of pickup with a night-before SMS confirming driver name, vehicle registration and pickup point; departures timed to reach the airport 2 hours before domestic flights and 3 hours before international, plus the drive and the estate access allowance; flight monitoring on every airport pickup with the collection following the actual landing time and wait time not charged (grace around 30–45 minutes domestic, 45 minutes to an hour international); on inbound legs the passenger receives an SMS confirming the transfer with the exact meet point and arrival instructions; meet and greet included on Gold Coast Airport arrivals.

Fleet: sedan or similar (1–3 passengers, up to 2 large suitcases, no boards or golf bags), 7-seat Kia Carnival (up to 7 passengers, up to 6 large suitcases, golf bags, prams, up to 3 boards in 1–2 bags) and 12-seater Transporter (8–11 passengers, up to 8 check-in suitcases plus 4 carry-on). Groups over 11 run as multi-vehicle bookings on one reservation, each vehicle timed to its own flight. Booked hire and taxi services are exempt from Queensland’s child restraint requirements; child seats are provided and fitted at $35 per seat, up to 5 in the Kia Carnival — you never need to bring your own. Payment by card online at booking, no in-car payment; corporate accounts by prior approval. Cancellation more than 24 hours ahead earns a full credit, none within 24 hours; if the airline cancels the flight, full credit with over 4 hours’ notice, 50% between 1.5 and 4 hours, none inside 1.5 hours. Credits are non-refundable.
