Gold Coast Airport Parking vs a Return Transfer — What It Costs
The Short Answer
For a few days away, Gold Coast Airport’s budget car park usually costs less than a return transfer if you’re driving yourself. For a week or more, a return transfer often costs less, and it beats the Terminal car park much sooner.
- Drive-up rates, published 7 November 2026: Budget Uncovered $78 for 3 days or $162 for 7, then $18 a day; Terminal $124 or $262, then $30 a day.
- A return sedan transfer from Surfers Paradise is about $190: $90 to the airport, $105 back, with 5% off the return leg.
- Against Budget Uncovered, the transfer costs less from 6 days (Tweed Heads, Palm Beach) to 13 days (Coomera).
| Return transfer from | Sedan (1–3) | Kia Carnival (up to 7) | Costs less than Budget Uncovered from |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tweed Heads, Palm Beach | about $122 | $180 | 6 days |
| Burleigh Heads | about $170 | $219 | 8 days |
| Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Robina | about $190 | about $248 | 9 days |
| Coomera | about $268 | about $326 | 13 days |
Transfer fares are fixed per vehicle, GST included, with 5% off the return leg when both legs are on one booking; totals are rounded. After-hours transfers between 9pm and 6am may incur an additional surcharge, shown in your quote before you book.
If you live on the Gold Coast or the Tweed, the choice before a trip is usually between driving yourself and parking at the airport, or booking a transfer both ways. The numbers depend on two things: how long you’re away and how far you live from the airport. Here are the airport’s own drive-up rates next to CGC’s fixed fares, so you can see where the line falls.
- ✔ Parking: Gold Coast Airport drive-up rates, published 7 November 2026
- ✔ Transfer: fixed per vehicle, both legs on one booking, 5% off the return
- ✔ Short trips: the budget car park usually costs less
- ✔ A week or more: a transfer often costs less
- ✔ Families: one Kia Carnival fare covers up to 7

Return Transfer Fares
A CGC transfer is fixed per vehicle when you book. Put both legs on one booking and 5% comes off the return leg. The pickup from the airport costs more than the drop-off because it includes the airport access fee and meet and greet inside arrivals, with your flight tracked and 45 minutes’ waiting after a domestic landing or 90 after an international one.
| Suburb | To the airport (sedan / Carnival) | From the airport (sedan / Carnival) |
|---|---|---|
| Tweed Heads, Palm Beach | $55 / $85 | $70 / $100 |
| Burleigh Heads | $80 / $105 | $95 / $120 |
| Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach, Robina | $90 / $120 | $105 / $135 |
| Coomera | $130 / $160 | $145 / $175 |
Where the Line Falls
- A weekend or a few days: if you’re driving yourself, Budget Uncovered or Saver parking usually costs less than a return transfer.
- A week or more: against Budget Uncovered, a return sedan transfer costs less from 6 days away from Tweed Heads or Palm Beach, 8 days from Burleigh Heads, 9 days from Surfers Paradise, Broadbeach or Robina, and 13 days from Coomera.
- If you’d park in the Terminal car park: the transfer costs less from 3 days (Tweed Heads, Palm Beach), 5 days (Burleigh Heads to Robina) and 8 days (Coomera).
- Families: the Kia Carnival is one fare for up to 7, with baby seats fitted, so it often makes sense sooner than the car park for a family with a pram and bags.
Money isn’t the only part of it: with a transfer nobody drives home after a late landing, and the car isn’t sitting in the car park while you’re away.

Do I have to book the return at the same time?
To get 5% off the return leg, yes: both legs on one booking. You can still book the trip home separately at the standard fare.

Pickups between 9pm and 6am may carry an after-hours surcharge, shown in your quote before you book. For a domestic flight we time the pickup at drive time plus 2 hours, and plus 3 hours for international.
Is parking cheaper if I book online?
Gold Coast Airport sells parking online in advance as well as at the gate, and online prices can be lower than the drive-up rates on this page. Check the airport’s site for your dates.
