We carry Australian-Standards restraints for every stage and fit the right one for your child’s age and size:
- Rear-facing seat — newborn to around 6 months. An approved rear-facing child seat rather than a capsule.
- Rear- or forward-facing seat — around 6 months to 2 years, depending on your child’s size.
- Forward-facing seat with 6-point harness — around 2 to 6 years, for older siblings travelling alongside.
- Transitional booster — around 6 to 8 years, until the adult belt sits correctly across shoulder and lap.
These are guides, not rules — the right restraint depends on actual height and weight. Give us each child’s age and rough size at booking and we prepare the correct seat. If you’re unsure, say so and we’ll work it out with you.

Plenty of families travelling internationally prefer to bring their own capsule so the baby has a familiar seat at the other end — that works equally well and costs nothing to fit.
What the Law Actually Says
Queensland
Queensland law requires children under 7 to travel in an approved restraint suited to their age and size in a private vehicle. Booked hire vehicles and taxis — services like ours — carry a specific exemption from that requirement.
Worth being clear about what that means: the exemption makes a seat legally optional, not advisable. We fit the correct restraint on every transfer where a child needs one, because a capsule is the right way to move an infant regardless of what the regulation permits. The exemption is a legal fact, not a recommendation.

New South Wales
New South Wales applies private-car rules to hire vehicles, with no booked-hire exemption. On any NSW pickup — Tweed Heads, Kingscliff, Cabarita, Byron Bay, Ballina and the Northern Rivers — children under 7 must be in an approved restraint suited to their age. Across the border it isn’t a choice and we fit the seat as standard.

Be honest with yourself about the luggage. A sedan holds a capsule and a compact pram and two cases and that is genuinely all — add a full-size pram or a third suitcase and it doesn’t fit. A family of four with a baby is a Carnival almost every time. The $30 difference is worth far more than the ten minutes spent discovering the problem at the kerb with a flight to catch.
Prams, cots and oversized gear
Full-size, compact and twin prams all travel — tell us which at booking so the right boot space is allocated. Portable cots, travel high chairs and a car seat being carried as luggage all fit in the Carnival or Transporter. Twin prams need the Carnival as a minimum. Flag anything oversized when you book rather than at the kerb.

The rideshare problem isn’t price, it’s the restraint. An app can’t promise you a capsule and a driver who arrives without one leaves you choosing between an unrestrained infant and a missed flight. The taxi problem is the meter, which runs while you fit a seat, load a pram and settle a baby — the three things that always take longer than planned.
Departure Timing and Travel Times
Babies add time to every stage: getting into the car, out at the terminal, through the check-in queue with a pram and through security with a capsule. We build that in rather than leaving you to absorb it.
How we set your pickup time
Domestic departures are timed to have you at the airport 2 hours before the flight; international, 3 hours. Your pickup is that lead plus the drive, with extra allowed in peak traffic. Give us the flight number at booking and the time is calculated from it — not from check-out and not from a guess. The margin means an unplanned feed or a nappy change doesn’t turn into a sprint through the terminal.

A Real Departure: Surfers Paradise to Brisbane International
A family books a Tuesday transfer from a Surfers Paradise apartment to Brisbane International for a 9am flight. On the booking: two parents, a four-month-old, a rear-facing capsule, a full-size pram, two large cases and a nappy bag.
That manifest is a Carnival — the pram alone rules out a sedan. The international rule puts the target arrival at 6am and with an 80-minute drive plus loading time the pickup is set at 4:40am. Because it falls before 5am, an after-hours fee applies; it’s calculated and shown inside the quote at booking, along with the Gateway toll and the $35 capsule, as one figure.
The night before, an SMS confirms the pickup time, the driver’s name, the vehicle registration and that the capsule is fitted in the second row. On the morning the driver arrives a few minutes early, loads the pram and cases while the parents settle the baby and checks the harness once she’s in. The M1 is empty pre-dawn and they’re at the International terminal by 6am with time to check in without hurrying.
Nothing about that is remarkable. That’s the point.

Payment is by card online at booking, which is when the price locks. Nothing is paid in the car.
Book 48 hours ahead where you can, so the right seat is reserved against your booking. School holidays and December through January are worth a week or two. Same-day is often possible — call and ask. There’s no last-minute loading either way.

Will a pram, capsule and our luggage all fit?
In the Carnival, comfortably — a full-size pram, a capsule, two to three large cases and a nappy bag, with room for siblings. In a sedan it’s a compact pram, a capsule and two cases and that’s the limit. Twin prams need the Carnival as a minimum. Flag the pram type at booking and the right vehicle is allocated.
Which vehicle should I book?
Count the luggage, not the seats. A family of four with a baby is a Carnival almost every time once the pram and cases are in. The sedan suits one baby and one or two adults travelling light. If you’re on the line, size up — the $30 is worth more than the ten minutes spent finding out at the kerb.
What if the baby needs feeding or changing during the drive?
The driver pulls over safely at the next service area. On the Brisbane run especially, it’s a common request and there’s no rush — the schedule is built around your flight, not the driver’s next job. Just say so.
Will the driver help with the pram and luggage?
Yes, at both ends — loading at your address and unloading at the terminal kerb, including prams, capsules, cots and oversized gear. You only need to manage the baby.
What time will we be collected?
Two hours before a domestic departure and three before an international one, plus the drive and loading time. Give us the flight number and we work it back from that. The margin is deliberate — it absorbs an unplanned feed without turning into a sprint.
What happens if our flight is delayed?
Nothing you need to do. Arrivals are monitored automatically and the driver adjusts to your actual landing time at no extra charge. There’s no calling from a busy arrivals hall with a tired baby on your shoulder. Wait time isn’t charged — grace runs around 30–45 minutes on domestic arrivals and 45 minutes to an hour on international.
Can we do a very early or late pickup?
Yes, by pre-booking. Pickups between 9pm and 5am carry an after-hours fee, which is calculated and shown inside your quote before you pay — the prices on this page assume standard hours of 5am to 9pm. Pre-dawn runs are the clearest on both routes, which is some consolation for the alarm.
How far ahead should we book?
Forty-eight hours where you can, so the right restraint is reserved. School holidays, long weekends and the December–January peak are worth a week or two. Same-day bookings are often possible — call and ask. There’s no last-minute surcharge either way.
Can you do the return leg too?
Yes and most families book both together so the same seat is reserved twice and the return is locked before they fly. The airport-to-home leg is quoted separately because inbound legs carry an airport access fee, so you’ll see two figures rather than a doubled one — both confirmed upfront.
Is the Gateway toll included on the Brisbane run?
Yes. The Gateway Motorway toll sits inside the locked quote on every Brisbane run — no separate charge, no line item. The Gold Coast Airport run is toll-free.
Do you cover Northern NSW pickups?
Yes — Tweed Heads, Kingscliff, Casuarina, Cabarita, Pottsville, Murwillumbah, Byron Bay, Suffolk Park, Brunswick Heads, Mullumbimby, Bangalow, Lennox Head and Ballina. NSW applies private-car restraint rules to hire vehicles, so a seat is required rather than optional on those pickups and we fit it as standard.
What are the cancellation terms?
More than 24 hours before pickup, a full credit applies. Within 24 hours, no credit. If your airline cancels the flight: full credit with over 4 hours’ notice, 50% between 1.5 and 4 hours, none inside 1.5 hours. Credits are non-refundable. Full terms on our About Us page.
