Currumbin to Brisbane Airport: Route, Distance and Drive Time

Drive time (off-peak) Approximately 1h 25min–1h 30min
Drive time (weekday peak) 1h 45min to 2h 5min through Yatala and the Logan Motorway merge (6:30am–9:30am)
Primary route Gold Coast Highway / Pacific Parade → M1 Pacific Motorway north via the nearest suitable on-ramp (Palm Beach, Burleigh, Robina, Nerang, Helensvale, Coomera, Ormeau, Yatala) → Logan Motorway merge at Loganholme → Gateway Motorway → BNE
Domestic pickup buffer Drive + 1.5h (≈ 3h before flight)
International pickup buffer Drive + 3h (≈ 4h 30min before flight)
Gateway Motorway toll Included in the locked quote
Where you start in Currumbin changes the number. A Pacific Parade beachfront pickup joins the M1 within minutes. A Currumbin Valley acreage sits well west along Currumbin Creek Road and that leg alone can add real distance before the motorway even starts — which is why the quote is calculated on your exact address rather than the suburb. From the on-ramp onward it’s the standard northbound haul, with Yatala and the Logan merge the only variables.

Suggested Pickup Times

Off-peak M1 conditions assumed. Pickups before 5am or after 9pm fall outside standard operating hours and may attract an after-hours surcharge, confirmed in your online quote.

If you’re unsure which airport your itinerary points at, the airport transfer pricing guide walks through the decision.

Currumbin to Brisbane Airport Pickup Points

CGC services every Currumbin address — beachfront, hill, Wildlife Sanctuary precinct, canal-front and hinterland. The list below is illustrative — your specific street, apartment lobby, hotel front entrance, residential driveway or acreage entry is captured at booking.

Beachfront & Surf Break

  • Currumbin Beach and Pacific Parade — oceanfront apartments, beach houses and holiday rentals running parallel to the surf, from Currumbin Alley north toward the Palm Beach border
  • Duringan Street and Surf Avenue — beachfront and near-beach residential and apartment addresses
  • Currumbin Alley and Elephant Rock — beachfront addresses around the iconic surf break and the Elephant Rock formation at the southern headland; The Goal Posts and Currumbin Point are part of the same rock-and-sand formation defining the wave

Hill, Sanctuary & Canal Precincts

  • Currumbin Hill — elevated streets behind the beach with views over the coastline, premium residential
  • Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary precinct — visitor accommodation around 28 Tomewin Street and the surrounding hotel and short-stay inventory
  • Currumbin Waters — canal-front homes and quieter inland residential streets west of the Gold Coast Highway

Hinterland & Border Precincts

  • Currumbin Valley — hinterland addresses along Currumbin Creek Road, rural and acreage properties running into the McPherson Range foothills, with long unmarked driveways requiring landmark descriptions for early-morning pickups
  • Palm Beach border — addresses on the Currumbin Creek crossing at the northern Currumbin boundary
  • Tugun border — southern Currumbin addresses adjacent to Tugun
  • Holiday rentals and short-stay apartments across Pacific Parade, Duringan Street, the Wildlife Sanctuary precinct and Currumbin Waters

Currumbin: Beachfront, Wildlife Reserve and Hinterland in Five Kilometres

Currumbin sits at the southern end of the Gold Coast beachfront — a suburb with distinctive character that runs surf town to wildlife reserve to rural hinterland in less than five kilometres.

The Pacific Parade beachfront strip is anchored by the iconic Currumbin Alley surf break and the Elephant Rock formation at the southern headland, with The Goal Posts and Currumbin Point completing the rock-and-sand setup that defines the wave. The Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary on Tomewin Street is one of the Gold Coast’s major tourist attractions.

Currumbin Hill rises behind the beach with premium elevated residential overlooking the coastline. Currumbin Waters runs inland with canal-front family residential west of the Gold Coast Highway. Currumbin Valley stretches west along Currumbin Creek Road into the McPherson Range foothills with acreage properties, rural lanes and long unmarked driveways.

Currumbin’s booking detail depends entirely on which Currumbin you’re in. Pacific Parade apartments need the lobby and unit number — basement and street-level access vary building to building. Wildlife Sanctuary precinct accommodation needs the specific hotel main entrance, since a pin drop lands at the Sanctuary gate rather than your hotel. Currumbin Valley acreage needs a landmark description — “white letterbox, sensor light, 200m past the Currumbin Creek Road bend” — because at 3:30am a house number hundreds of metres back from an unlit rural road is functionally invisible. Whatever applies goes on the booking record and the night-before SMS confirms it.

The Currumbin-to-BNE run is specifically the long-haul international option, for major routes not normally available from OOL. The 104-kilometre M1 corridor joins the motorway at the nearest suitable on-ramp and runs through Palm Beach, Burleigh, Robina, Helensvale, Coomera, Ormeau and Yatala to the Logan Motorway merge and the Gateway Motorway directly into BNE.

Fleet Available From Currumbin

For groups of 8–11, the 12-seater Transporter handles wedding parties departing through BNE after Currumbin Beach, Elephant Rock or Currumbin Valley hinterland weddings, group surf trips and Wildlife Sanctuary precinct multi-family movements.

Real Scenario: Currumbin Valley Acreage Family to BNE International — 8am Flight to Fiji

A family of four lives on an acreage property along Currumbin Creek Road in Currumbin Valley, set well back from the road via a long unmarked rural driveway. They have an 8:00am international flight from BNE International to Nadi, Fiji for a family surf trip to Cloudbreak. Luggage: three large suitcases, two carry-on bags, a soft surfboard bag holding two shortboards, a small day pack. The family arranges a booster for the 6-year-old and a forward-facing seat with internal harness for the 3-year-old.

The booking is placed five days ahead with the acreage address, landmark description (“white letterbox, sensor light, 200m past the Currumbin Creek Road bend, third property past the Tomewin Mountain Road junction”), the flight number, both children’s ages and the surfboard manifest. The locked quote covers the Carnival rate, GST and the Gateway Motorway toll, with the early-morning after-hours surcharge (3:30am pickup inside the 9pm–5am window) and the child seat cost calculated and confirmed in the online quote. CGC allocates a Kia Carnival with both child seats pre-fitted and applies the international timing rule (1h 30min drive plus 3h buffer), scheduling the pickup at the acreage driveway entrance and confirming it in the night-before SMS with the sensor-light reference on file.

On the morning the vehicle arrives at the driveway entrance — sensor light on exactly where described, white letterbox visible — turns in, navigates the 200m run back to the house and loading completes in around six minutes. The journey proceeds back down the driveway onto Currumbin Creek Road, north onto the Gold Coast Highway and onto the M1 northbound at the nearest on-ramp. The early-morning M1 through Palm Beach, Burleigh, Robina, Nerang, Helensvale, Coomera, Ormeau and Yatala is clear, the Logan merge and Gateway run cleanly into BNE and the Carnival reaches BNE International with comfortable time for international check-in, immigration and security, with breakfast before the morning Nadi departure.

CGC Private Transfer vs Rideshare from Currumbin

Factor CGC pre-booked Rideshare
Pricing on the day ✓ Fixed pricing based on your exact pickup address, locked at booking ✗ Dynamic surge applies early morning, school holidays, Friday afternoons
Gateway Motorway toll ✓ Included in the locked quote ✗ Added on top of the surge fare

QLD child seats ✓ Correct seat fitted before pickup when arranged at booking ✗ Not provided as standard
BNE long-distance acceptance (104km) ✓ Routine and accepted at booking ✗ Long airport trips can be less reliable through rideshare because acceptance depends on driver availability, timing and vehicle suitability

Early-morning availability (3am–5am) ✓ Pre-booked early morning transfers available, rostered for the shift ✗ Driver availability can be limited in the southern Gold Coast early morning

Frequently Asked Questions on Currumbin to Brisbane Airport

How much does Currumbin to Brisbane Airport cost?

A fixed $230 Sedan or similar, $300 Kia Carnival for the 104km run — based on standard operating hours 5am–9pm, with the Gateway toll included and the final quote locked at booking. Currumbin Valley hinterland acreage may price higher than Pacific Parade beachfront because the road distance can be materially different. Per vehicle, not per passenger. All prices include GST. After-hours, Christmas Day, Easter Sunday and optional extras may incur additional charges.

OOL is only ~7km away — when does BNE make sense?

OOL sits at Bilinga around 7km south of Currumbin — under 10 minutes by road — and is the obvious choice for domestic east-coast, short-haul Asia-Pacific and NZ international. The BNE run is for major long-haul international routes not normally available from OOL. See our Currumbin to OOL page.

How long does Currumbin to Brisbane Airport take?

Around 1h 25min–1h 30min off-peak — approximately 104km via the Gold Coast Highway, the M1, the Logan Motorway merge and the Gateway Motorway into BNE. Weekday morning peak adds 20–35 minutes through Yatala and the Logan Motorway merge. If you’re travelling in peak periods, allow up to 2 hours for the run.

How far is Currumbin from Brisbane Airport?

Approximately 104km by road via the M1 Pacific Motorway, Logan Motorway and Gateway Motorway. Gold Coast Airport (OOL), by contrast, is only around 7km south at Bilinga.

Is the Gateway Motorway toll included?

Yes. Already inside the locked quote — no separate toll charge on arrival.

Are there after-hours charges?

Yes. Displayed pricing is based on standard operating hours from 5am to 9pm. After-hours transfers between 9pm and 5am may incur an additional surcharge, which is calculated and confirmed in your online quote before booking. Most long-haul BNE departures from Currumbin need an early-morning pickup, so this often applies.

What pickup time do I need for a 9am international flight?

Approximately 4:30am from Currumbin. The 104km run takes around 1h 30min off-peak plus the 3-hour international buffer, landing you at BNE International around 6:00am for check-in. A pre-5am pickup falls outside standard hours and may attract an after-hours surcharge.

Can CGC pick up from Currumbin Valley hinterland addresses?

Yes. Acreage streets along Currumbin Creek Road into the McPherson Range foothills are handled routinely. These addresses frequently have long unmarked driveways set hundreds of metres back — provide a landmark description on the booking and the night-before SMS confirms the exact pickup point. Important for early-morning pickups when house numbers are difficult to read.

Does CGC service the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary precinct?

Yes. Visitor accommodation around the Sanctuary entrance on Tomewin Street and adjoining hotels is all serviced — specify the hotel name and main lobby in the booking notes.

Can CGC fit surfboards?

Yes. The Carnival fits up to 3 boards in 1–2 bags — boards up to around 7’2″ fit diagonally and longer boards need the Transporter, which also handles larger surf-trip manifests. International surf trips from the Currumbin Alley / Elephant Rock / Goal Posts surf community through BNE to Indonesia, Fiji, the Maldives and Central America are routine bookings.

Are child seats available?

Yes. Child seats are arranged at booking and CGC fits the correct rear-facing capsule, forward-facing seat or booster on request. Queensland exempts booked hire from the mandatory restraint requirements that apply to private cars, but CGC fits the correct seat anyway — provide each child’s age and approximate size at booking. Multi-child configurations are handled in the Carnival. An additional child seat cost applies and is added to your quote at booking. See Queensland child restraint exemptions.

Does CGC surge for school holidays or Schoolies week?

No. The same locked rate applies year-round, including school holidays and Schoolies week. A higher rate applies only on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday. Book early during peak periods.

Are early-morning pickups available from Currumbin?

Yes. Pre-booked early morning and after-hours transfers are available and early-morning 2:30am–5am pickups are routine for long-haul BNE departures from Currumbin beachfront, the Wildlife Sanctuary precinct and Currumbin Valley acreage. Pickups before 5am fall outside standard operating hours and may attract an after-hours surcharge, confirmed in your online quote.

Do you charge for waiting time at Brisbane Airport?

No. There is no extra charge for airport waiting time. On arrivals we monitor your flight and generally allow 30 to 45 minutes after a domestic landing and 45 minutes to 1 hour after an international landing, for you to clear the terminal and collect your bags. You will receive a text confirming your transfer and where to meet the driver.

Is the return trip from Brisbane Airport the same price?

Not quite — the inbound leg is quoted separately and generally sits a little above the outbound, because runs starting at Brisbane Airport carry the airport access fee that outbound trips don’t. Both legs go on one reservation and both figures are shown before you confirm, so there’s no guesswork. We monitor your inbound flight and because where you’re met depends on which arrivals area your flight comes into, you’ll receive a text confirming your transfer with the exact meet point and arrival instructions — then we drop you at your apartment, beach house, Sanctuary-precinct hotel or Currumbin Valley acreage.

How much luggage can each vehicle take?

The Sedan or similar handles up to 2 large suitcases plus carry-on, the Kia Carnival up to 6 — plus up to 3 surfboards in 1–2 bags — while the 12-seater Transporter holds up to 10. Flag your bags and any boards at booking so the right vehicle is sent.

How do I pay?

You pay online by card when the booking is made, so nothing is handled in the car. Corporate accounts are available by prior approval.

What is the cancellation and flight-change policy?

Cancel more than 24 hours before pickup for a full credit toward a future booking; within 24 hours, no credit applies. If a flight is cancelled, you get a full credit beyond 4 hours, a 50% credit from 1.5 to 4 hours and none inside 1.5 hours. Credits are non-refundable and carry to your next trip. The full terms are on our About Us page.

Which Brisbane Airport terminal do you drop at — Domestic or International?

Whichever your flight departs from. Tell us the flight number at booking and we confirm the correct terminal — Brisbane Airport Domestic Terminal or International Terminal — and drop you at that terminal’s departures forecourt. From Currumbin the BNE run is most often the International Terminal, since that is the reason to choose BNE over OOL, but we run plenty of Domestic Terminal trips too.

Can you take a group of more than 11?

Yes. For parties above 11 — wedding groups departing through BNE after a Currumbin Beach, Elephant Rock or Currumbin Valley wedding, group surf trips or multi-family movements — we run a multi-vehicle booking with several vehicles allocated together under one reservation. Send the total passenger and luggage numbers and we organise the fleet.

Tip for Currumbin travellers heading to BNE: OOL sits only around 7 kilometres south at Bilinga — under 10 minutes by road — and is the obvious airport for most travel. The 104-kilometre BNE run is specifically the long-haul international option for major routes not normally available from OOL. Most BNE departures from Currumbin are early-morning (2:30am–4:30am pickup for 7am–9am international long-haul), so an after-hours surcharge may apply and is confirmed in your online quote, while the Gateway toll is inside the locked quote. The controlling pickup detail varies by precinct: Pacific Parade apartments need lobby and unit number; Wildlife Sanctuary precinct accommodation needs the specific hotel main entrance on Tomewin Street; Currumbin Valley acreage needs the long driveway landmark description (“white letterbox, sensor light, 200m past the Currumbin Creek Road bend”) because early-morning house numbers are difficult to read.
