The Direct Answer on Airport Transfer Prices
CGC airport transfers start from $55 sedan, $85 Kia Carnival to Gold Coast Airport (OOL) and from $190, $240 or $465 to Brisbane Airport (BNE). Pricing is per vehicle — not per person — with one fixed published figure for your zone to the chosen airport. You see the figure before you book and it’s locked from the moment the booking is confirmed. No surge, no metered fare, no fuel levy and no toll added later — the Gateway Motorway toll on every BNE-bound run is already inside the quote. Two things do adjust the figure where they apply: the after-hours fee on pickups between 9pm and 5am and the higher rate on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday. Both are confirmed in the quote at booking, not sprung on you on the day. Child seats are an optional extra, itemised in the quote. The booking confirmation total is the total you pay. Operating 5am–9pm, after-hours by arrangement. 5.0 stars from 65 Google reviews.
Prices at a Glance
| Vehicle | Passengers | To Gold Coast Airport (OOL) | To Brisbane Airport (BNE) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sedan or similar (Toyota RAV4) | 1–3 | from $55 | from $190 |
| 7-seat Kia Carnival | 4–7 | from $85 | from $240 |
Indicative “from” pricing for central Gold Coast suburbs, per vehicle. Your exact figure depends on your pickup address and is locked at booking. Northern NSW and outer Gold Coast pickups are quoted on the route. Not sure which vehicle you need? See our guide to choosing the right transfer. .
Every CGC quote follows the same model: a published fixed price per zone, vehicle-dependent, locked at booking. Every suburb we serve sits in a fixed-price zone on our published schedule, so the figure for your address to Brisbane Airport (BNE) or Gold Coast Airport (OOL) exists before you even ask — and it’s fixed from the moment the booking is confirmed.
After-hours fees (the 9pm to 5am pickup window) and the higher rates that apply on Christmas Day and Easter Sunday are confirmed in the locked quote, not added on the day. The booking confirmation total is what you pay, regardless of traffic, demand and driver availability on the day of travel. The Gateway Motorway toll on every BNE-bound run is already inside the locked quote — no toll-booth charge on arrival, no separate line item on the invoice.
Fixed pricing, no surge, no metered fare. Gateway toll inside on BNE runs.

What “Locked at Booking” Actually Means
Three inputs determine every quote: your pickup zone, the vehicle class and the time of day. The booking system matches your address to its published zone, applies that zone’s fixed figure for the vehicle you need, factors in any after-hours or public-holiday adjustment and returns a figure.
From that point, the quote doesn’t move. Traffic, congestion, M1 incidents and roadworks on the day don’t change it, because the quote reflects route distance rather than actual drive time. If the M1 doubles your drive time on a Wednesday morning, you pay the quoted figure. If the driver gets a clear run and arrives early, you pay the quoted figure. What you’re quoted at booking is what you pay after the transfer.
What’s Inside Every Quote
Priced in
- The route — pickup address to terminal, calculated on the road network.
- The vehicle — sedan, 7-seat Kia Carnival or 12-seater Transporter, each with its own rate.
- Time of day — standard hours (5am to 9pm) or after-hours (9pm to 5am), confirmed in the quote.
- Public holiday adjustment — the Christmas Day and Easter Sunday rate where it applies, confirmed in the quote.
- Road tolls, fuel and operating costs — including the Gateway Motorway toll on every BNE-bound run.
Included in the service
- Named driver, allocated days ahead, with a night-before SMS confirming driver name, vehicle registration and pickup time.
- Automatic flight monitoring on every inbound booking — pickup adjusts at no extra charge.
- Door-to-door service — no shared stops, no multi-drop routing.
- Driver-assisted luggage handling at the pickup address and the terminal kerb.
- Surfboards, golf bags and oversized gear carried in the right vehicle — no separate handling charge.
- Wait time absorbed for reasonable delays, including customs clearance on international arrivals.
Available as an optional extra
- Australian-Standards child restraints — capsule, forward-facing seat or booster — fitted before pickup, with the cost added to the quote at booking so you see the total upfront. Bring your own and the driver fits it at no charge.

| Schoolies week surge | ✓ Never — late November at standard rate |
| Last-minute booking surcharge | ✓ Never — same rate today as four weeks ahead |
| Wait-time charge for a delayed flight | ✓ Never — flight monitoring adjusts the pickup at no cost |
The Two Adjustments That Do Apply
Two things change the figure where they apply — and both are confirmed in the quote at booking, so the booking confirmation total already reflects them.
Confirmed at booking, never added later
- After-hours fee — applies to pickups between 9pm and 5am and is included in the quote at booking. Pre-dawn international departures and post-midnight inbound arrivals both fall in this window.
- Christmas Day and Easter Sunday — a higher rate applies on these two days only, set out in the quote at booking.
- Every other public holiday — standard rate. New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Australia Day, Good Friday, Easter Monday, ANZAC Day, the King’s Birthday and Labour Day carry no adjustment.
- Weekends — standard rate. The day of the week alone doesn’t change the quote.
- Peak periods — school holidays, Schoolies week, the December–January window, Easter weekend and major Gold Coast event windows all run at the standard rate. Driver availability tightens, but the rate doesn’t move.
Locked Pricing vs Rideshare Surge
| When you’re travelling | CGC | Rideshare |
|---|---|---|
| Weekday 2pm, off-peak | ✓ Locked at booking | Base fare, generally comparable |
| Saturday 9am, peak hour | ✓ Locked at booking | ✗ Surge typically applies |
| Friday 11pm, late-night return | ✓ Locked at booking | ✗ Late-night surge common |
| Christmas morning, 6am | ✓ Locked at booking, Christmas Day rate set upfront | ✗ Holiday surge typically applies |
| Schoolies week, peak hour | ✓ Locked at booking | ✗ Demand surge climbs sharply |
| Heavy M1 traffic, slow run | ✓ Locked at booking — no meter running | ✗ Time-based charges accumulate |
| Pre-dawn BNE international departure | ✓ Locked at booking — after-hours fee and Gateway toll both inside | ✗ Pre-dawn surge, plus a separate toll |
| Long-haul flight delayed on arrival | ✓ Flight monitoring adjusts the pickup at no charge | ✗ Generally means re-booking |

How the Vehicle Affects the Price
Alongside route distance, the vehicle is the largest input into the quote. Each of the three classes carries its own rate. For families and groups, the per-person figure usually lands lower in a single Carnival or Transporter than across multiple sedans — one Carnival quoted on request to OOL beats two sedans at $90 each.
| Vehicle | Passengers | Best for | From (OOL / BNE) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Sedan or similar | 1–3 | Solo travellers, couples, business travel. 2 check-in + 2 carry-on bags, no oversized gear | $55 / $190 |
| 7-seat Kia Carnival | 4–7 | Families with child seats, longer BNE runs, surfboards, multi-suitcase loads, prams | $120 / $240 |
Choosing between them is covered in detail on our which transfer do you need guide.
Why BNE Costs More Than OOL
Distance. Gold Coast Airport sits 25–45 minutes from central Gold Coast suburbs via the toll-free Gold Coast Highway. Brisbane Airport is 1h 30min–2h away via the M1 and Gateway Motorway — roughly three times the distance, with a toll. If you’re travelling in peak periods, allow up to 2 hours for the run. That’s the whole explanation for the gap between $90 and $190.
From northern Gold Coast suburbs — Coomera, Helensvale, Hope Island, Sanctuary Cove — the gap narrows, because BNE is genuinely closer from there than from Coolangatta. Your quote reflects your actual route, not a suburb-wide average.
Real Scenario: Christmas Morning, Broadbeach to BNE
The setup
A business traveller in Broadbeach is booked on a 7am Christmas Day flight from Brisbane Airport Domestic and books six weeks ahead. The system applies the timing rule — drive time plus a 1.5-hour domestic buffer — and schedules a 4am pickup. A sedan is the right vehicle: one passenger, light business luggage, well inside the 2 check-in + 2 carry-on capacity.
The quote — every adjustment inside the figure
The quote is generated at booking and covers the Broadbeach to BNE Domestic distance on the sedan rate band from $200, with the after-hours fee (the 4am pickup falls in the 9pm–5am window), the higher Christmas Day rate and the Gateway Motorway toll all itemised inside the locked quote. Every applicable adjustment lands inside the quote, not on top of it.
Christmas Eve
9pm Christmas Eve: the named driver sends an SMS confirming the 4am pickup, the vehicle registration and the meeting point in the apartment lobby.
Christmas morning
3:58am: the driver arrives. The M1 is unusually clear — Christmas Day, pre-dawn, public holiday. The Logan Motorway merge runs cleanly, the Gateway Motorway runs cleanly and the vehicle reaches BNE Domestic at approximately 5:25am, well inside the 1.5-hour window for a 7am departure.
Outcome
The booking confirmation total is the total paid. No surge component, no metered surprise, no holiday loading added on the day. By comparison, on-demand options on Christmas morning carry standard surge climbs and uncertain driver acceptance for a long pre-dawn Gold Coast to Brisbane run.
Groups, Child Seats and Cross-Border Pickups
Group bookings move up to the Carnival or the Transporter, each with its own rate. The per-person figure for six to eleven people travelling together generally lands lower than three or four separate sedans — and the group arrives together, which two vehicles can’t promise.
Child seats are an optional extra, added to the quote at booking so the total is confirmed before you commit. Australian-Standards capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters are fitted before pickup and the same seats apply on cross-border pickups from Byron Bay, Kingscliff, Casuarina, Cabarita, Pottsville, Brunswick Heads, Mullumbimby, Bangalow, Lennox Head, Ballina and Suffolk Park under the harmonised national framework. Bring your own seat and the driver fits it at no charge.
Getting an Accurate Quote
What to provide
- Exact pickup address — street, hotel or unit number, plus access notes.
- Destination — BNE Domestic, BNE International, Gold Coast Airport (OOL) or the Brisbane International Cruise Terminal at Luggage Point.
- Passenger count and luggage volume — this determines the vehicle.
- Travel date and pickup time and the flight number so the timing rule is applied for you (drive + 1.5 hours domestic, drive + 3 hours international).
- Child seat requirements — ages and approximate weights (optional extra, added to the quote).
- Surfboards — count, lengths and bag type. The Carnival takes up to 3 in 1–2 bags; sedans don’t carry boards.
- Any other oversized luggage — golf bags, instruments, boxed bicycles.
- A mobile number for the night-before driver SMS.
Submit these on the online booking form for an instant quote and call 0416 131 285, SMS or WhatsApp for cross-border pickups, very large groups, conference delegations or anything outside a standard manifest.
Frequently Asked Questions
How much is an airport transfer on the Gold Coast?
From $55 sedan, $85 Kia Carnival to Gold Coast Airport (OOL). From $190, $240 or $465 to Brisbane Airport (BNE). Pricing is per vehicle, not per person, with one fixed published figure per zone, locked at booking. Northern NSW and outer Gold Coast pickups are quoted on the route.
Is the price really locked?
Yes. Once the booking is confirmed, the figure doesn’t move. No surge, no metered fare, no fuel levy, no toll added later. The booking confirmation total is what you pay after the transfer, regardless of traffic or demand on the day.
Does the price change if traffic is heavy on the day?
No. The quote is a fixed zone figure, not a function of drive time, so M1 traffic, congestion, school zones and roadworks don’t change it. The price you see at booking is the price you pay.
What’s included in the price?
The vehicle, a named driver allocated days ahead, door-to-door service to your terminal, driver-assisted luggage handling, automatic flight monitoring on every inbound booking and wait time for reasonable delays including customs clearance. The Gateway Motorway toll on BNE-bound runs and the after-hours fee on 9pm–5am pickups are both inside the quote. Surfboards, golf bags and oversized gear are carried in the right vehicle at no separate charge.
Do child seats cost extra?
Yes. Child seats are an optional extra, with the cost added to the quote at booking so you see the total before confirming. Australian-Standards capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters are available and fitted before pickup. If you bring your own seat, the driver fits it at no charge.
Are after-hours pickups charged extra?
An after-hours fee applies to pickups between 9pm and 5am. It’s included in the quote at booking, not added on the day, so the booking confirmation total already reflects it.
Are Christmas Day and Easter Sunday charged differently?
Yes — a higher rate applies on those two days only and it’s confirmed in the quote at booking. Every other Queensland and NSW public holiday runs at the standard rate with no adjustment.
Is there a last-minute booking surcharge?
No. The rate today is the same as the rate four weeks ahead. Booking early secures vehicle availability during peak periods, but it doesn’t change the price. For same-day pickups, see our last-minute airport transfer guide.
Can I get a quote without committing?
Yes. Submit your route, vehicle preference and travel time on the online booking form for an instant quote with no obligation.
Does the quote include tolls and fuel?
Yes. Fuel, road tolls and operating costs are all built into the price — including the Gateway Motorway toll on every BNE-bound run. No fuel levy, no toll surcharge, nothing added on the day. There’s no Gateway toll on OOL runs; the Gold Coast Highway is toll-free.
Is the price per person or per vehicle?
Per vehicle. A family of six in one Carnival at $120 to OOL and a group of ten in one Transporter quoted on request works out lower per head than booking multiple sedans — and everyone arrives together.
Why does Brisbane Airport cost more than Gold Coast Airport?
Distance. OOL is 25–45 minutes from central Gold Coast suburbs on the toll-free Gold Coast Highway; BNE is 1h 30min–2h via the M1 and Gateway Motorway — roughly three times the distance, with a toll. From northern suburbs like Coomera and Hope Island the gap narrows considerably.
How are Northern NSW pickups priced?
The same way — every Northern NSW area sits in its own fixed-price zone for BNE and OOL, with the right vehicle allocated and the figure locked at booking. Australian-Standards child restraints are fitted on the NSW side under the harmonised national under-7 framework, as an optional extra.
