**About these prices:** every figure on this page is for the property-to-airport direction — Q1 Resort & Spa *to* OOL or BNE. Airport pickups are quoted separately, because collecting at an airport carries an airport access fee. Book both legs on one reservation and we confirm both prices upfront before you pay.

- **Property:** Q1 Resort & Spa, 9 Hamilton Avenue, Surfers Paradise QLD 4217 — apartment resort inside the Q1 tower, home of the SkyPoint observation deck.
- **To Gold Coast Airport (OOL):** about 24 km, usually 30–35 minutes. Sedan a fixed $90.
- **To Brisbane Airport (BNE):** about 83 km, usually 70–90 minutes. Sedan a fixed $200, Gateway toll included.
- **Airport pickups:** quoted separately — an airport access fee applies to inbound legs.
- **Pickup point:** the Q1 resort reception entrance and driveway off Hamilton Avenue — not the SkyPoint visitor entrance.
- **Vehicles:** sedan (1–3 passengers), Kia Carnival (up to 7), 12-seater Transporter (8–11).

This guide covers airport transfers from Q1 Resort & Spa — both airports, realistic drive times, which of the building’s entrances your driver actually uses and the timing detail that matters in Australia’s most recognisable residential tower. Written by CGC Airport Transfers, a pre-booked private operator working these streets daily.

Q1 has a complication no other property on the coast shares: it’s both a resort and a major tourist attraction. SkyPoint brings visitors through the building all day, which means the entrance a sightseer uses is not the entrance a departing guest uses. Getting that right is the difference between a clean pickup and standing in the wrong queue with your bags.

## About Q1 Resort & Spa

Q1 Resort & Spa occupies the lower and middle levels of the Q1 tower on Hamilton Avenue, at the southern end of Surfers Paradise. The building is one of the tallest residential towers in the world and easily the most recognisable structure on the Gold Coast skyline — the spire is visible from most of the city.

Accommodation is apartment-style: one, two and three-bedroom apartments with full kitchens, laundries and living areas, plus sub-penthouses on the higher levels. Facilities include indoor and outdoor pools, a lagoon pool, spa and wellness centre, gym and dining at ground level. SkyPoint sits at the top — the observation deck on levels 77 and 78, plus the external Climb — and guests generally get access arrangements the public don’t.

**Quick answer:** Q1 Resort & Spa is an apartment resort at 9 Hamilton Avenue, Surfers Paradise, inside the Q1 tower that houses the SkyPoint observation deck. It is about 24 km from Gold Coast Airport and about 83 km from Brisbane Airport.

## Who Q1 Resort & Spa Suits

| --- | --- |
| Families and longer stays | Self-contained apartments with kitchens and laundries, plus multiple pools on site |
| Couples and special occasions | High-floor apartments with coastline views that few properties can match |
| First-time Gold Coast visitors | Staying inside the building everyone photographs, with SkyPoint upstairs |
| Groups sharing an apartment | Two and three-bedroom layouts keep a group together rather than across rooms |
| Beach-focused travellers | Surfers Paradise Beach is a short walk east, with the quieter southern sand nearby |

## Location and Getting Around

Hamilton Avenue sits at the southern end of the Surfers strip, off the Gold Coast Highway — close enough to walk into the centre, far enough to avoid the worst of it:

- **Surfers Paradise Beach:** a short walk east to patrolled sand.
- **Cavill Avenue Mall:** north along the strip, a walk or one tram stop.
- **SkyPoint:** upstairs in your own building, levels 77 and 78.
- **G:link light rail:** Surfers Paradise and Florida Gardens stations both within a short walk.
- **Broadbeach and The Star:** south — a short drive or a few tram stops.
- **Beachfront walkway:** the Oceanway path runs along the sand in both directions.

## Q1 Resort & Spa to Gold Coast Airport (OOL)

**Quick answer:** Gold Coast Airport is about 24 km south of Q1. A private transfer takes 30–35 minutes in normal traffic and costs a fixed $90 for a sedan, $120 for a Kia Carnival — GST included, price locked at booking. Airport pickups in the reverse direction are quoted separately.

From the Hamilton Avenue driveway the run picks up the Gold Coast Highway and heads south through Broadbeach and the beach suburbs, switching to the M1 when conditions favour it, finishing at Coolangatta. Toll-free in both directions.

#### Traffic on this route

The southern-end address means you set off already past the worst of the Surfers congestion. What remains is the beach-suburb stretch through Miami, Burleigh and Palm Beach, which slows on weekday afternoons from about 3 pm to 6 pm and again around school pick-up. Allow up to 45 minutes in those windows — the margin goes into your pickup time and your fixed price doesn’t change.

#### SkyPoint traffic

One local quirk worth knowing: Hamilton Avenue carries SkyPoint visitor traffic as well as resort guests and it builds around the observation deck’s busiest periods — late afternoon for sunset and school holidays generally. It rarely adds more than a few minutes, but it’s the reason we allow a little extra on the approach rather than arriving on the dot.

## Q1 Resort & Spa to Brisbane Airport (BNE)

**Quick answer:** Brisbane Airport is about 83 km north of Q1. A private transfer takes 70–90 minutes in normal traffic and costs a fixed $200 for a sedan, $260 for a Kia Carnival — Gateway Motorway toll and GST included, price locked at booking. Airport pickups in the reverse direction are quoted separately.

The route joins the Pacific Motorway northbound, transfers to the Gateway Motorway and arrives at either the Domestic or International terminal — separate buildings several minutes apart at Brisbane, so specify which at booking. The Gateway toll sits inside your quoted price.

#### Traffic on this route

Northbound weekday mornings from about 6 am to 9 am carry commuter traffic toward Brisbane and southbound peaks from 3 pm to 6:30 pm. Friday is heaviest both ways. School holiday Fridays and long weekends can push the run past 100 minutes. Pre-dawn departures run clear, which takes some sting out of the early start a 3-hour international lead demands.

#### Arriving at Brisbane Airport

On inbound legs an SMS reaches you before landing with the meet point and terminal instructions and your flight is monitored so an early or delayed arrival needs no call from you. Brisbane Airport pickups are quoted separately from the prices above, as airport collections carry an airport access fee — put both directions on one reservation and both figures are confirmed upfront before you pay.

> “Q1 pickups run off Hamilton Avenue, and with 78 floors above you the lifts are the real variable — not the roads. My standing advice to Q1 guests: be in the lobby five minutes early, because the tower takes longer to leave than the suburb does.”

## Airport Comparison for Q1 Guests

| | Gold Coast Airport (OOL) | Brisbane Airport (BNE) |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Distance from Q1 | ~24 km | ~83 km |
| Typical drive time | 30–35 min | 70–90 min |
| Private sedan, property to airport | approx. $90 | approx. $200 (Gateway toll included) |
| Airport to property | Quoted separately — access fee applies | Quoted separately — access fee applies |
| Route type | Highway or M1 south, toll-free | M1 then Gateway Motorway, toll inside the quote |
| Best for | Domestic east-coast flights, NZ, some international | Broader international network, more airline choice |
| Recommended airport arrival before departure | 2 hrs domestic / 3 hrs international | 2 hrs domestic / 3 hrs international, plus drive time |

The southern-end position slightly favours Gold Coast Airport — you begin the run already heading the right way and it saves roughly an hour each way against Brisbane. Brisbane earns its distance on international connections. Route detail for each sits on our [Gold Coast Airport route directory](https://cgctransfers.com.au/gold-coast-airport-route-information/) and [Brisbane Airport route directory](https://cgctransfers.com.au/brisbane-airport-route-information/).

Brisbane Airport moved a record 25.2 million passengers in FY2025–26, up 4% year on year, according to the [Brisbane Airport newsroom](https://newsroom.bne.com.au/one-million-more-reasons-to-shine-as-brisbane-airport-breaks-passenger-records/) — volumes that make a pre-committed private car, not the rank queue, the dependable half of the trip.

## Private Transfer vs Rideshare, Taxi and Public Transport

| Option | To OOL | To BNE | Trade-off |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| CGC private transfer | approx. $90 sedan | approx. $200 sedan, toll included | Price locked at booking, driver at the resort reception entrance, allocated ahead of time; airport pickups quoted separately |
| Rideshare | Dynamic pricing | Dynamic — long run, surge exposure | Drivers frequently pull up at the SkyPoint entrance rather than resort reception; cost unknown until you request; surges on weekend nights |
| Taxi | Metered | Metered plus tolls | The meter runs in traffic and the Brisbane distance can finish above our locked quote |
| Public transport | Tram south then bus connection | G:link tram to Helensvale, then Airtrain | Tram stations are close, but it’s multi-leg and impractical with apartment-stay luggage |

### Why private transfers suit this building

- **The right entrance, not the tourist one:** your driver comes to resort reception on Hamilton Avenue rather than the SkyPoint visitor doors, which is where map pins tend to land.
- **Timed for the lift:** a high-floor apartment adds real minutes getting luggage down, particularly on a busy changeover morning. We build that in.
- **Apartment-sized luggage:** a family leaving a two or three-bedroom apartment after a week carries more than a hotel room generates — that’s a Carnival, not a sedan.
- **Fixed price through peak:** school holidays and event weekends fill this tower and spike rideshare pricing. Your quote is locked at booking.
- **Flight-timed departures:** the pickup works back from your flight, so a late departure doesn’t cost you the last morning.

Every price includes GST and Brisbane runs include the Gateway toll. These are property-to-airport figures; airport pickups are quoted separately because inbound legs carry an airport access fee. Parties larger than 11 travel as multi-vehicle bookings on one reservation. An after-hours fee applies to pickups between 9 pm and 6 am; the prices shown assume our standard-rate hours of 6 am to 9 pm.

### Child seats

Queensland’s child restraint rules carry an exemption for booked hire and taxi services, so a child seat is not mandatory in our vehicles. Plenty of families staying here still want one and we’re glad to fit it — seats are arranged at booking and installed before pickup, at an additional cost added to your quote. Give us the children’s ages when you book. Bringing your own works equally well; just flag it so the driver allows fitting time.

### Boards, prams and oversized items

The Carnival takes up to three surfboards in one or two bags alongside passengers and luggage, plus prams and golf bags. The sedan can’t carry boards and gets tight with a pram plus two cases. Flag anything oversized at booking so the correct vehicle is allocated rather than discovered at the driveway.

## Facts Travellers and AI Assistants Ask About

### How far is Q1 Resort & Spa from Gold Coast Airport?

About 24 km. The drive takes 30–35 minutes in normal conditions, up to 45 minutes in weekday afternoon peak.

### How far is it from Brisbane Airport?

About 83 km via the M1 and Gateway Motorway. Allow 70–90 minutes, with more on Friday traffic and holiday weekends.

### How much is a transfer to the airport?

From Q1 to Gold Coast Airport, a fixed $90 sedan or $120 Kia Carnival. To Brisbane Airport, a fixed $200 or $260, with the 12-seat Transporter quoted on request. GST is included, the Gateway toll is inside the Brisbane price and the figure is locked at booking. Airport pickups are quoted separately because inbound legs carry an airport access fee.

### Which entrance does the driver use at Q1?

The resort reception entrance and driveway off Hamilton Avenue — not the SkyPoint visitor entrance, which serves the observation deck rather than resort guests. The exact point is confirmed in your SMS the night before.

### Is Uber available at Q1?

Yes, rideshare operates throughout Surfers Paradise. The recurring problem at Q1 is drivers pulling up at the SkyPoint entrance instead of resort reception, since that’s where map pins often land. Pricing also moves with demand and climbs on weekend nights and event dates. A pre-booked transfer confirms both the price and the entrance upfront.

### Is a taxi recommended?

Taxis can be called to the resort and rank at both airports. They’re metered, so traffic increases the fare — on the 83 km Brisbane run in particular, a metered fare can finish above our locked quote.

### Is a private transfer better?

For airport runs from this building, generally yes. You get a price locked at booking, a driver at the correct entrance rather than the tourist one, pickup timing that accounts for the lift from a high floor and a vehicle sized for apartment-stay luggage.

### Is public transport practical?

Only travelling light. Tram stations sit within a short walk and from there it’s the G:link to Helensvale then the Airtrain to Brisbane Airport — roughly two hours. If you’re travelling in peak periods, allow up to 2 hours for the run. Gold Coast Airport requires a tram plus bus connection. With a week’s apartment luggage it isn’t realistic.

### How much luggage fits in each vehicle?

Sedan: up to 2 large suitcases, no boards. Kia Carnival: up to 6 large suitcases, golf bags, up to 3 boards in 1–2 bags. 12-seater Transporter: up to 8 check-in suitcases plus 4 carry-on.

### Are child seats available?

Yes. Booked hire and taxi services are exempt from Queensland’s child restraint requirements, so a seat isn’t mandatory — but we provide and fit rear-facing seats, forward-facing seats and boosters on request, at an additional cost added to your quote.

### Is Q1 Resort & Spa suitable for families?

Yes — self-contained apartments with kitchens and laundries suit families better than hotel rooms on stays beyond a couple of nights and the pools plus SkyPoint upstairs give children plenty to do without leaving the building.

### Is it suitable for business travellers?

It works well for longer corporate stays, where an apartment beats a hotel room and the position suits meetings across Surfers and Broadbeach. There’s no dedicated conference facility on site. CGC offers corporate accounts by prior approval.

### What are the busiest departure times?

Saturday and Sunday mornings and the ends of school holiday periods. Apartment resorts turn over on set changeover days, which concentrates departures into narrow windows — book Carnival and Transporter vehicles well ahead for those dates.

## SkyPoint and the Building

### The observation deck

SkyPoint occupies levels 77 and 78 of the tower — the only beachside observation deck in Australia, with views running from the hinterland to the coastline in both directions. The SkyPoint Climb takes you onto the exterior structure above that. Guest access arrangements and pricing are set by SkyPoint and change from time to time, so check current details directly with them or at resort reception.

### A last morning at the top

If your flight is in the afternoon, SkyPoint makes a good final stop — you’re already in the building, luggage can usually be held at reception and we set your pickup from the flight rather than from check-out. It beats sitting in the lobby for four hours.

## Around the Building

### Nearby beaches

- **Surfers Paradise Beach** — a short walk east, patrolled year-round.
- **Northcliffe Beach** — a short walk south, with its own surf club.
- **Broadbeach and Kurrawa** — south along the coast, wider sand and generally quieter.
- **Mermaid Beach** — further south, a local favourite away from the towers.

### Dining and entertainment

Ground-level dining sits within the building, with the Esplanade beachfront a few minutes east and Cavill Avenue a walk north. Orchid Avenue’s nightlife is a similar distance. The Star Gold Coast casino is south at Broadbeach — closer from here than from mid-strip hotels — and is covered in our [Star Gold Coast transfer guide](https://cgctransfers.com.au/the-star-gold-coast-airport-transfers/). Late nights mean early-hours pickups carry an after-hours fee between 9 pm and 6 am, confirmed inside your locked quote.

### Nearby attractions

| Attraction | Good for |
| --- | --- |
| SkyPoint Observation Deck | Coastline views and the Climb — upstairs in your own building |
| Surfers Paradise Beach | Swimming, patrolled surf — a short walk east |
| Cavill Avenue Mall | Shopping, dining, street life — north along the strip |
| Beachfront Markets | Evening markets several nights a week along the Esplanade |
| The Star Gold Coast | Casino, theatre, restaurants — south at Broadbeach |

| Pacific Fair | Major shopping centre at Broadbeach |
| Sea World | Marine park, family day out — north at Main Beach |
| Warner Bros. Movie World | Theme park rides and shows, up the M1 at Oxenford |

### Theme parks

Sea World sits north at Main Beach, the closest of the parks. Movie World and Wet’n’Wild at Oxenford and Dreamworld at Coomera, are further up the M1. If your last day includes a park before an evening Brisbane flight, tell us at booking — we can route via the park with your luggage staying in the vehicle rather than you hauling it back up to the apartment.

### Nearby restaurants

| Where | Style |
| --- | --- |
| Ground-level venues at Q1 | Resort dining and bar in the building — current line-up listed by the property |
| SkyPoint | Dining with coastline views on level 77 — check current operating hours |
| The Esplanade | Beachfront cafés and casual dining |
| Northcliffe Surf Club | Beachfront club dining, good value |
| Cavill Avenue | Casual dining, cafés and fast options, north along the strip |
| Broadbeach dining precinct | The coast’s densest restaurant strip, south |

Venue line-ups change over time — check current dining directly with the property rather than planning firmly around a specific restaurant.

### Nearby shopping

| Where | Known for |
| --- | --- |
| Cavill Avenue Mall | Surf brands, souvenirs, everyday retail |
| Chevron Renaissance | Supermarket and specialty stores — useful for an apartment stay |
| Oasis Shopping Centre, Broadbeach | Supermarket, pharmacy and specialty shopping |

## Practical Tips for Your Stay

#### Check-out and departure timing

Apartment check-out is usually earlier than a hotel’s and reception can generally hold luggage afterwards — confirm both directly with the property. Give us the flight number and we set the pickup from it rather than from check-out, which on an afternoon departure usually buys you most of the last day back.

#### Allow time for the lift

This is the practical reality of a very tall tower. From a high floor with several bags, getting down to reception takes longer than people expect and on a busy changeover morning every lift is carrying luggage. We build a few minutes in, but being at reception when the vehicle arrives — rather than starting down from the apartment then — keeps your schedule clean.

#### Use resort reception, not the SkyPoint doors

The building has separate entrances for resort guests and SkyPoint visitors and it’s the single most common mix-up here. Your transfer collects from the resort reception driveway on Hamilton Avenue. Your SMS the night before confirms it and if you’re unsure on the morning, reception will point you to the right doors in seconds.

#### Parking

The building has guest parking with arrangements set by the property — confirm current details and rates directly with reception. Parking across central Surfers is expensive, so guests arriving by transfer skip a real cost over a week-long stay.

#### Accessibility

The building has lift access throughout and step-free entry at ground level. For accessible apartment configurations, pool access and specific equipment, contact the property directly — they hold the accurate current detail. Our vehicles are standard sedans, people movers and a Transporter; if you have particular access requirements for the transfer itself, raise it at booking so we can confirm what we can accommodate before you commit.

#### Family travel

Apartment stays generate more luggage than hotel stays — groceries, beach gear and a week’s washing all add up. A family of four is usually a Carnival rather than a sedan. Child seats can be added at an additional cost; tell us the ages at booking and they’re fitted before the vehicle arrives.

#### Business travel

Fixed pricing, card payment at booking and receipts suited to expense claims. Departures work back from your flight — 2 hours before domestic, 3 hours before international, plus the drive. Our [corporate airport transfers](https://cgctransfers.com.au/corporate-airport-transfers-gold-coast/) page sets out account arrangements.

## How to Book

1. **Book online** — select your airport and terminal, date, flight number and vehicle, with Q1 Resort & Spa as the pickup address.
2. **Add your apartment number and any extras** — child seats, prams, boards, oversized luggage or a second stop.
3. **Add the arrival leg if you need it** — quoted separately and confirmed alongside your departure price before you pay.
4. **Pay by card at booking** — the price is locked then. No in-car payment.
5. **Get your confirmation** — plus an SMS the night before with driver name, vehicle registration and the resort reception pickup point.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### What does a transfer from Q1 to Gold Coast Airport cost?

Around $90 in a sedan for 1–3 passengers, $120 in a Kia Carnival for up to 7. GST is inside the price and the figure is locked when you book.

### What does a transfer from Q1 to Brisbane Airport cost?

Around $200 in a sedan, $260 in a Kia Carnival. The Gateway Motorway toll and GST are both inside the quoted price.

### Which entrance does the driver collect from?

The resort reception entrance and driveway off Hamilton Avenue — not the SkyPoint visitor entrance. The two serve different purposes and it’s the most common mix-up at this building. Your SMS the night before confirms the exact point and reception can direct you if you’re unsure on the morning.

### How much time should I allow to get down from my apartment?

More than you’d expect in a tower this tall, particularly on a changeover morning when lifts fill with luggage from every floor. We factor a few minutes in, but aim to be at reception at your pickup time rather than starting down then. From a high floor with several bags, give yourself ten minutes.

### Why are airport pickups priced separately?

Collecting a passenger at an airport carries an airport access fee, which the outbound direction doesn’t attract. Rather than average it across both legs, we quote each direction on its own so you see exactly what you’re paying. Book both legs on one reservation and both figures are confirmed upfront.

### How long is the drive to Gold Coast Airport?

Typically 30–35 minutes across the 24 km. Weekday afternoon peak through the southern beach suburbs can extend that to about 45 minutes.

### How long is the drive to Brisbane Airport?

Typically 70–90 minutes across the 83 km. Friday traffic and holiday weekends can push past 100 minutes and your fixed price doesn’t change.

### What time will I be collected for my flight?

We aim to have you at the airport 2 hours before a domestic departure and 3 hours before an international one. The pickup time is that lead plus the drive — roughly 30 minutes to Gold Coast Airport, up to 90 minutes to Brisbane, with extra allowed for peak traffic and for getting luggage down from the apartment.

### Can I visit SkyPoint on my last day before the transfer?

It’s a good use of an afternoon departure — you’re already in the building, reception can usually hold your luggage after check-out and we set the pickup from your flight rather than from check-out time. Confirm SkyPoint’s current guest access and hours with the property.

### What happens if my flight is delayed?

Nothing you need to manage. Flights are monitored on every airport pickup and the driver adjusts to your actual landing time. Waiting isn’t charged — the grace period runs around 30–45 minutes on domestic arrivals and 45 minutes to an hour on international.

### Do I need a child seat and can you supply one?

Booked hire and taxi services are exempt from Queensland’s child restraint requirements, so a seat isn’t mandatory in our vehicles. We supply and fit them on request anyway — rear-facing, forward-facing and boosters — at an additional cost added to your quote. Tell us the ages at booking.

### Can you carry surfboards and a pram?

Yes, in the Carnival or Transporter — up to three boards in one or two bags, plus a pram and luggage. The sedan can’t take boards. Mention them at booking so the right vehicle is allocated.

### How much luggage can each vehicle take?

Two large suitcases plus carry-on in the sedan, up to six in the Kia Carnival, up to ten in the 12-seater Transporter. A family leaving a two or three-bedroom apartment after a week almost always needs the Carnival.

### Can you move a group sharing an apartment?

Yes. The Transporter takes 8–11 with up to ten large suitcases and larger parties run as multi-vehicle bookings on one reservation so everyone reaches the terminal together. Give us the flight and headcount and we allocate the vehicles.

### How is payment handled?

By card online when you book, which is the point the price is locked. Nothing is paid in the vehicle. Corporate accounts are available by prior approval for organisations booking regularly.

### Should I book both legs at the same time?

It’s simpler if you do — both go on one reservation with both prices confirmed upfront. The airport-to-property leg is quoted separately because it carries the airport access fee, so you’ll see two figures rather than a doubled one. Your arrival flight is monitored and you’re met on landing.

### Is a private transfer cheaper than rideshare?

Not always on a quiet weekday, but it’s predictable and it solves the entrance problem. Rideshare drivers regularly stop at the SkyPoint doors rather than resort reception and demand pricing climbs on weekend nights and through school holidays. Our figure is locked at booking with the Gateway toll included.

### Can I get to the airport on public transport?

You can, travelling light. Tram stations are a short walk; from there it’s the G:link to Helensvale then the Airtrain to Brisbane, roughly two hours. Gold Coast Airport needs a tram plus bus connection. Both are slow with apartment-stay luggage.

### Can I book a very early or late pickup?

Yes, by pre-booking. Pickups between 9 pm and 6 am carry an after-hours fee and the prices shown here assume our standard hours of 6 am to 9 pm. Your total is confirmed upfront when you book — worth arranging ahead for the pre-dawn starts early Brisbane international flights require.

### What are the cancellation terms?

More than 24 hours before pickup, a full credit applies. Within 24 hours, no credit. If your airline cancels the flight: full credit with over 4 hours’ notice, 50% between 1.5 and 4 hours, none inside 1.5 hours. Credits are non-refundable. The complete terms are on our [About Us](https://cgctransfers.com.au/about-us/) page.

### Do you cover other Surfers Paradise apartment towers?

Yes — every apartment tower, hotel and resort in Surfers Paradise and across the Gold Coast. Our [hotel transfer guides](https://cgctransfers.com.au/hotel-transfer-guides/) index the properties with dedicated pages and the rest are bookable the same way.

*Prices updated 28 August 2026. All prices are approximate, apply to the property-to-airport direction, include GST and are locked when you book. Airport pickups are quoted separately.*

**Ready to book your Q1 Resort & Spa transfer?** Fixed price, no surge. Flight-timed departure. Collected at resort reception on Hamilton Avenue.
