### The Short Answer

CGC supplies and fits Australian-Standards child restraints — rear-facing capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters — for **$35 per seat on any transfer**, GST included, itemised in the quote and installed before pickup. Tell us each child’s age at booking and the correct restraint under Queensland law is ready when the driver arrives. The Kia Carnival takes up to 5 seats in any combination. 5.0 stars from 75 Google reviews.

## What Queensland Law Requires

| Child’s age | Required restraint under QLD law |
| --- | --- |
| Under 6 months | Approved rear-facing restraint |
| 6 months to under 4 years | Rear-facing or forward-facing restraint with inbuilt harness |
| 4 to under 7 years | Forward-facing restraint with inbuilt harness, or an approved booster seat |
| 7 years and over | Booster or properly fitted adult seatbelt, depending on the child’s size |

### Front seat rules

Children under 4 must not travel in the front row of a vehicle with two or more rows. Children aged 4 to under 7 may only sit in the front if all rear seats are occupied by younger children. In CGC vehicles, children travel in the rear in the correct restraint — every trip.

## Travelling Into New South Wales

Transfers to Byron Bay, Kingscliff and Northern NSW cross the border, but NSW follows the same national age-based restraint standards — the seat we fit in Queensland keeps your child correctly and legally restrained for the whole journey, in both states.

## Do Gold Coast Airport Transfers Include Child Seats?

With CGC, any transfer can — this is not a special family service or a particular vehicle type. Whether the booking is Gold Coast Airport, Brisbane Airport, Byron Bay, the theme parks or anywhere else we run, child seats are added to the same booking for $35 per seat, GST included, and fitted before pickup. Sedan, RAV4, Kia Carnival or the 12-seat Transporter — every vehicle in the fleet takes restraints.

They are an itemised add-on rather than an automatic inclusion, which is deliberate: you see the exact figure in the quote before you confirm, and each child gets the correct restraint category for their age under Queensland law rather than whatever happens to be in the boot. Tell us the ages when you book — a capsule for the baby, a booster for the six-year-old, up to five seats in the Carnival in any combination — and it is all installed and checked before the driver leaves for your pickup.

## Frequently Asked Questions

### How much do child seats cost with CGC?

Child seats are $35 per seat — rear-facing capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters. Tell us each child’s age at booking and the correct restraint is itemised in your quote, installed and ready before pickup.

### What does Queensland law require for children in vehicles?

Under Queensland road rules, children under 6 months must use a rear-facing restraint; from 6 months to under 4 years a rear-facing or forward-facing restraint with an inbuilt harness; and from 4 to under 7 years a forward-facing restraint with inbuilt harness or an approved booster seat. From 7 years, a properly fitted adult seatbelt or booster may be used depending on the child’s size.

### Can my child sit in the front seat?

Under Queensland rules, children under 4 must not travel in the front row of a vehicle with two or more rows. Children aged 4 to under 7 may only sit in the front if all rear seats are occupied by younger children. In practice, children in CGC vehicles travel in the rear in the correct restraint.

### Do the same rules apply for trips into New South Wales?

NSW child restraint laws follow the same national age-based standards, so transfers between the Gold Coast and Byron Bay or Northern NSW are covered by the same seat we fit for you in Queensland.

### How many child seats can one vehicle take?

The Kia Carnival takes up to 5 child seats — capsules, forward-facing seats and boosters in any combination the family needs. The sedan/RAV4 and the 12-seater Transporter also accept restraints; tell us your ages and we will confirm the right vehicle.

### How do I add child seats to a booking?

Select child seats during online booking or call 0416 131 285, and tell us each child’s age. The correct restraint is itemised in the quote, confirmed on your SMS booking confirmation and installed before your pickup.

### Are prices GST inclusive?

Yes. All CGC prices, including the $35 child seat add-on, include GST, and your total is locked at booking with no surge pricing.

### Do Gold Coast airport transfers include child seats?

With CGC, every transfer can include them — Gold Coast Airport, Brisbane Airport, Byron Bay or anywhere else. Child seats are an itemised add-on at $35 per seat, GST included, fitted before pickup, available on any vehicle in the fleet. Tell us each child’s age at booking and the correct restraint under Queensland law is installed and checked before the driver arrives.

### Can I book a Gold Coast Airport transfer with child seats for a family?

Yes — that is a standard booking, not a special request. The Kia Carnival seats up to seven passengers and takes up to five child seats in any combination, with room for the family’s luggage. Give us the children’s ages when booking and each one gets the correct restraint category, itemised in the quote and fitted before pickup.

### Are child seats free on airport transfers?

No — seats are $35 each, GST included, itemised in the quote so the total is known before you confirm. That covers the seat, the correct restraint choice for your child’s age, and fitting and checking it before the driver leaves for your pickup.

### Do you have capsules for newborns?

Yes — Australian-Standards rear-facing capsules for babies under six months, the restraint Queensland law requires at that age. State the baby’s age at booking and the capsule is installed before pickup.

### My child is 8 but small — do they still need a booster?

Queensland law says from age 7 a child may use a booster or a properly fitted adult seatbelt depending on their size. If the adult belt does not sit correctly — across the shoulder, not the neck — a booster remains the safer choice, and we will happily fit one at the standard $35.

### Do taxis and rideshare follow the same child seat rules?

Some exemptions exist for other transport categories, but CGC does not use them — every child travels in the rear in the correct restraint for their age, every trip. It is simpler, it is safer, and it means the answer to “will there be a proper seat” is always yes.

### How do I know which seat my child needs?

You do not need to — that is our job. Give us each child’s age at booking and we supply the restraint that matches the Queensland categories in the table above: capsule under six months, harnessed seat to four, harnessed seat or booster four to under seven, booster or adult belt from seven depending on size.

### Does the Transporter take child seats?

Yes — the 12-seat Transporter takes restraints, as do the sedan, RAV4 and Kia Carnival. Larger family groups can keep everyone in one vehicle with every child correctly restrained.

### Do we have to carry the seats through the airport?

No — the seats are ours and they stay with the vehicle. On a drop-off you walk into the terminal with your luggage and nothing else; on a pickup the seats are installed before the driver leaves for the airport, so the car arrives ready to go.
